This individual rearended me in gridlock traffic that was going about 5 miles an hour.
This person then promptly fled the scene down the first side street.
Luckily for my insurance company and me, this person was driving an extremely distinctive vehicle and I was able to commit the license plate to memory before their car drove off.
The officer who took my statement later told me that the vehicle which hit me was the only one of its model, color and year in the state of New York.
And no, the driver was not an illegal immigrant.
Was it Bloomberg ;)
My hit and run was with a teenage girl in a van who thought that "STOP" meant "stop for a little bit and then go no matter what traffic there is on the crossing street". I clipped her rear and she kept on going.
Now the good part of the story: the accident happened right in front of a police station. Police don't like it when people commit traffic offenses just outside thier front door. I had the driver's name, address and insurance info within a couple hours and a check for the blue book retail value of the car within a couple weeks.
Hillary!?
