Several weeks (months?) ago, I started receiving unsolicited daily email from something called FMNN eAlerts. It appears at first to be some sort of free daily "newspaper." Not being familiar with the source, I deleted it.
But it kept coming every day. I set up a spam filter for it (in Thunderbird), but apparently I did it wrong because it kept coming. It appears to be professionally produced, and it is packed full of large images.
Out of curiousity, I started reading a bit of it. I noticed that every "issue" featured Libertarian presidential candidate Ron Paul. I soon realized that it is nothing but spam for his candidacy.
I have no way of knowing whether Ron Paul himself is behind this or not. But I do know that this spam campaign is a disgrace, and he should demand an end to it whether he is personally involved or not.
Who do these people think they are, using a massive spam campaign for some semi-kooky presidential candidate who is clueless about the terrorist threat we face? If this is their idea of "innovative" campaigning, they need a good slap upside the head. Please let them know what you think about their spam.

FMNN = Free Market News Network, a newsletter that has been around for a while. No surprise that they're supporting RP, but there's not direct affiliation that I'm aware of.

I suggest searching Wired Magazine online. They have several articles recently on the Paul supporters email spamming, creating bogus forums on other candidates, and spamming polls. We can’t post the articles here, but they are pretty deep. I know they are working on a few more on fundraising.

If they think spam should be a part of the “free market,” I think they have the wrong definition of the word “free.”

Whoops, I just realized that I mistakenly identified Ron Paul as a “Libertarian” presidential candidate. That should be small-l “libertarian,” of course.

Ron Paul buzz is a George Soros funded Hillary Clinton black ops recreation of a “Ross Perot” vote splitter like Bill Clinton had in 92....
The stealth left power that be will push hard create a “Ron Paul” third party

Nice Ad!
The Bush administration’s remarkable success in preventing any terrorist more attacks in the US after 9/11 has led to an atmosphere of complacency that allows Ron Paul and the Democrats to get away with downplaying or dismissing the threat.
I sometimes wonder if we need a “small” terrorist attack inside the US once in a while to inoculate us against a very large one someday.

I have been a member of Freerepublic since 2000. Only until this Ron Paul disease started, have I received for the first time, unsolicited email from another Freeper/RonPaultard.

Maybe we can bring back the “5”s. That was a glorious chapter in FR’s history.

Basically, there was a group that would go around posting images of things that involved the number "5" in response to anything they disagreed with, implying that the person they were responding to was part of the "5th column".
It was a coward's tactic. You don't have to defend what you're saying if you never really said anything.
