Basically, there was a group that would go around posting images of things that involved the number "5" in response to anything they disagreed with, implying that the person they were responding to was part of the "5th column".
It was a coward's tactic. You don't have to defend what you're saying if you never really said anything.

Even though post # 10 is just a graphic, it perfectly illustrates the insane position of Ron Paul's foreign policy.
The "5" incident is much different than parodies of Ron Paul which illustrate his wacko candidacy. It is mixing apples with oranges.

5 was for a short time in essence what "ditto" is to Rush.
There was a anti-war article posted and the response in post number 5 was so devastatingly correct and throughly cutting there was nothing left to say. So the other posters began to post "ditto post #5" and "See #5". Eventually it was shortened to just five.
