Zogby Zinger: Hillary Aide Should Temper Criticism 'With a Little Bit of Truth'

"You sort of have to be a little careful. There's a whole campaign handbook of things that you say to dismiss polls. But you should mire them in a little bit of truth." -- John Zogby, responding to criticism by Mark Penn, chief Hillary Clinton strategist, of Zogby's online polling.
Mark Twain, famously warning against getting into a spat with newspapers, said "never pick a fight with someone who buys their ink by the barrel." To his chagrin, Mark Penn, Hillary Clinton's chief campaign strategist, is learning a modern corollary: never pick a fight with someone with three hours of national airtime. And for gosh sakes, don't use arguments in picking the fight so false as to be child's play to disprove.

Seriously the 90’s era legacy of Carville and Begala is going totally down the toilet.
This generation of Waar Room guys are looking amazingly inept. Is this Ickies, Wolfson and McAuliffe dropping the ball or others?

From Rush's show yesterday:
RUSH: This morning on Joe Scarborough's show on MSNBC, Mark Penn, who is Hillary Clinton's pollster appeared. You know, a Zogby Poll came out yesterday, and it showed that Hillary gets beat by every Republican candidate, from Huckabee, to Rudy, to Romney, to McCain. She gets beaten nationally by every one of them. Now, this is a poll that the Clintons don't like, so Mark Penn went on to discuss this today, and Scarborough said, "Hey, look, now, we've got polls coming out, the Zogby Poll that you saw and everybody is talking about this morning that shows that she's losing to all these Republican contenders, even Huckabee's beatings her by five points. What's going on here?"
PENN: That was Zogby's first interactive online poll ever. The Gallup Poll that came out also yesterday showed Senator Clinton five points ahead of Giuliani and double digits ahead of some of the other possible Republican nominees and showed that if Barack Obama were the nominee it would be dead even. That's a real poll that's got 50 years of history. This is the first time Zogby has done something online. It's a meaningless poll and really, frankly, shouldn't even be on your show.
RUSH: Yes, Joe, you shouldn't even be talking about this poll, Joe. I am Mark Penn, and I'm from Clinton, Inc., and you shouldn't be mentioning this poll. By the way, the margin of error in this poll, from what I've seen, the Zogby Poll, is just plus or minus 1%. His sample was 10,000 voters, as opposed to the usual 400 to 800 you get with Gallup, ABC, Washington Post, CBS, and New York Times. Scarborough says, "So the Zogby Poll is meaningless to you?"
PENN: It's an online poll. It's his first ever. His methodology is completely untested and unproven. You can look at any of the real polls, including some of his real polls, that this is totally out of sync and makes absolutely no sense.
RUSH: The message there, is, Joe, only mention the positive Hillary polls, please. Clinton, Inc., trying to control the media out there. This was the Gore media approach, too, back in 2000, don't get any bad news out there.

Hillary’s campaign thugs are learning the hard way that unlike REPUBs who will take any amount of verbal abuse from any and all Clintaoids, some RAT Party members like the Zog-man won’t tolerate the stuff. T
This plus Oprah in the same week is gonna leave a mark.

Hillary is a much better candidate for any Republican to defeat. Obama is a complete unknown and that might work to his favor. Hillary has so much baggage that the Democrats are scared to bring up. But she can be Swift boated on variety of things, it has been long time since I heard anyone mention how she make a killing on pork belly futures, buy that would make a great Swift boat type attack.

Mark Penn is a big fat liar. He knows Zogby has done thousands of these interactive polls prior to this one.
How does Penn know this? Because he personally has asked Zogby for their results for years!

Further on Penn being a liar, it turns out that Penn and the Hillary Campaign ask for his interactive poll results MORE than any other campaign!
Hillary Inc is a giant lie machine.

But let me tell you what the Clinton administration, what the Clinton campaign did that worked. Is, they froze people. All day at this network and a couple other networks, they froze people who were afraid to use the poll. And now we've got the information out. Both the bold and red emphasis are mine.
The danger of another Clinton Presidency is clear and present.
Wonder who on the Republican side could make the networks "afraid" to use a poll's results?

I expect and predict a complete meltdown of the H! campaign in the coming weeks.................... If such a thing happens, it will be because the MSM is engineering it. What do they have to gain from it? Well, the way things were going a month ago, when Hillary was picking out a bejeweled pantsuit to show up for the coronation, the Rat race was a snoozefest. That doesn't sell newspapers. Also, they resent that she's not pandered enough to the moonbat base, i.e., refusing to 'apologize' for her Iraq war vote. They really want her to earn this nomination by out Obama'ing Obama.
Lastly, they know that beating the rest of the Rats in a fair fight hones her skills for the general election. They know that the Republican nominee is going to go after her in ways that no Rat ever will, and she needs to develop a debating style that will adequately compete with the bare-knuckle fighting that is going to take place once we have a settled Republican nominee.

Please for accuracy it wasn’t pork bellies, it was cattle future. her amazing profits were “donated” by other investors (who were told they lost in the marker. This scam was run via a Tyson chicken guy...certainly in return for Gov. Bubba running interference for them so they could run under envrionmntal concerns and seriously pollute the waterways of Arkansas (where was ALGORE for goodness sake-—planting tobacco and running his zinc mine, I guess?).

Please for accuracy it wasnt pork bellies, it was cattle future. That may be, but I get a kick out of using Hillary and pork bellies in the same sentence. There is a visual imagery that is not same with cattle futures or orange juice futures.
