In a small windowless cell lit by a single light bulb, Louai al-Sakka sits isolated from the world and fellow inmates for 24 hours a day. His concrete box is in the bowels of Kandira, a high-security F-type prison 60 miles east of Istanbul, which was built to house Turkey's most dangerous criminals. The prison has been criticised by human right groups such as Amnesty International. The guards control everything, including the cell's light switch. Sakka's only visitor is Osman Karahan, a lawyer who shares his fervent support for militant Islamic jihad. Since being convicted as an Al-Qaeda bomb plotter last year, Sakka has decided to reveal his alleged role in some of the key plots of recent years, providing a potential insight into the unanswered questions surrounding them. His story is also one of a globetrotting terrorist in an organisation that is truly multinational...

False bravado ... He probably planned the Great Train Robbery too.
They want to die so I wouldn’t kill them . I’d let them rot in their own feces for years on end in the smallest cell I could find .Let them go mad and smash their skulls against the walls day and night .
According to Sakka, Nawaf al-Hazmi was a veteran operative who went on to pilot the plane that hit the Pentagon. Although this is at odds with the official account, which says the plane was flown by another hijacker, [Hani Hanjour] it is plausible and might answer one of the mysteries of 9/11. The Pentagon plane performed a complex spiral dive into its target. Yet the pilot attributed with flying the plane could not fly at all according to his flight instructors in America. Hazmi, on the other hand, had mixed reviews from his instructors but they did remark on how adept he was on his first flight.
“The guards control everything, including the cell’s light switch”
that’s why they call it “prison”
bump for later
Mmmmm my boss controls everything including the cubical's light switch. When is AI going to fight for me and my rights?
I have no doubt that the conditions in this prison are unpleasent. However they never seem to bring up anything that a mentally balanced person would get upset about.
Guards pulling out fingernails is something to be upset about. Guards turning the light on and off, not really.
Thank you for the ping Ali Veritas.

My previous (for a reason) employer started to abuse the privilege to page people in the middle of the night. They would sometimes page me 10 times for things like "informational pages" where I had to call my voice mail at work just to find out that something I was not responsible for is happening. In my opinion it was sleep deprivation and thus torture.
My response to the employer was you are treating me worse than the human rights groups think terrorist prisoners should be treated. I quit 2 days after I vested in the pension.
Sakka is Syrian... so was the recruiter for the Hamburg cell and the Hamburg cell’s imam. One of them had a connection to the Syrian intel service.
