Apart from the fact that the driver is clearly not deaf, you have a point.

Cops are Tazer happy. They use it to “punish” people. This cop is one of those small penised assholes that became a cop to compensate for that.

The officer doesn’t have to mirandize the driver until he has him in custody and his environment is secured. As far as searching the vehicle he asked the wife if she was taking possession of the vehicle and then asked her if he could look inside. If he had found something he would have been covered by the video.

This guy reminds me of a conversation I had with a cop friend of mine.

My friend told me that most cops were beat up and had their lunch money taken from them in school. He said, “I have a badge and a gun. I get to be the bully now.”

The point is that cops are frequently surprised by the deaf ~ or non-deaf folks with headcolds, so they should not always assume they are dealing with someone who heard what they said.

Particularly if they get into that high squeaky voice thing that shows a great deal of adrenalin flowing in their system building up to a major taserburst!

In any case, the taser cannot be considered to be "non lethal".

“How fast was the man traveling anyhow, the cop pulls over so the SUV can go by him and then pulls him over? How does that work?”

It works like a classic speed trap. One of the best I have ever seen. I’ve been nailed by a few in my day, but that was the best. Cheap slimy trick for sure.

Somethings gone wrong in this country.

The cop never said “you’re under arrest.”

Since when are people required to sign tickets?

Since when can cops use force like that though not under threat?

When the cops’ authority becomes more important than law, they’re no longer cops, they’re gestapo.

I have done it. Driving a marked cruiser, on the interstate, posted speed 65, me doing 65,car goes by me doing 76 on my radar. Pulled him over, chewed ass, could have been DUI, was not. Turned him loose.

You couldn’t hear a word the cop said when the traffic was passing. A lot was said then - during the normal time when a cop explains things as he stands at the window.

A tazer is considered “less-lethal” force.

Taser a cop and see how serious the act is.

I’m the last guy to automatically say the cops are always in the right but, after watching the video, the guy was resisting arrest.

The cop did not announce an arrest. The cop simply assaulted the citizen, after demanding "hands behind your back".

Absent an announcement of arrest, I find no fault, but rather virtue, with the citizen not complying.

In this day and age when cops are getting shot down all over the country by young punks like Massey they can't afford to take chances.

Yeah, those 28-year old married white guys with pregnant wives in their cars shoot cops on a daily basis.

A taser is non-lethal

It has been reported there have been 150 deaths due to taser. This has been reported on Fox news just recently. Lets share this with gun shots. Not all gun shots result in death. If we are to say as gun is considered lethal, then so does a taser. Everyone using a taser should keep that in mind. I suspect that within time the taser will be outlawed. But not signing a ticked is not the end. As far as I know, the officer is not required to take a person in custody if one does not sign a ticket. If the subject does not appear in court, by not taking the information on the ticket, he will be subject to a warrant for arrest, and the penalty is much greater. Has this a policy changed?

The proper response would be to cuff him,

No, the proper response would be for the LEO to explain that the signature was not an admission of guilt, only an acknowledgement to appear before the court.

Since always. How is a cop supposed to prove you were notified that you got a ticket if he doesn’t have a receipt?

That’s why they can’t arrest you for photo-tickets - you were not served in person.

I agree, I noticed the “search” of the vehicle and no arrest. Bad day for USP
