It is said, A picture is worth a thousand words. Check this out of Sen. Obama

Senator Barack Obama, has stated the song at the time he stood at ease was "The Star Spangled Banner". I placed the song, America because of our wonderful FLAG and America and the flag are the same. He refused to place his hand on his heart, when others did. A country without respect for its flag and values is doomed. Mr. Obama also has stated he will not wear a Flag Pin on him because he wants to show what will make America great, not a pin. I say America is GREAT and the BEST NATION in the world.

If this is the photo that has been circulating for a month, I have heard mixed stories.

But I am confused by your post - was it The Star Spangle Banner, or America being played? If it was America, there is no requirement to stand at attention, and definitely no mandate to put your hand over your heart.

But if it was our National Anthem (The Star Spangled Banner), then standing at attention with hand over heart (or a salute to the flag if in uniform) would be in order.

These people are ALL whores... no offense to whores. These clowns will do ANYTHING for attention and refusing to honor the flag is pretty infantile and a regular BS kind of dissidence. Can’t these ‘intellectuals’ come up with a more sophisticated message to convey their opposition to policies of the present Administration without resorting to self-conscious and bubble-brain theatrics? Their slapstick politics is getting real old. But... I guess if I had a two digit IQ, Liberals might have a message for me as well...I’ll never know.

I heard it was:

1) America being played...

2) Taken a moment before the music started...

3) Taken a moment after the music ended...

4) A plot by the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy...

I think hands over the genitals instead of the heart captures the quintessence of the 21st century Democrat Party.

Big Deal. The hand-over-heart thing is for the Pledge of Allegiance, not the Star Spangled Banner (or any other patriotic song). Yes, if I'm wearing a cap at a ball game, I do remove it and hold it over my heart, but otherwise I just stand there and gaze respectfully at the flag. Obama may have problems, but this isn't one of them.

The kind of steak that gets chicken fried, you would rather have taste like chicken.

I beg to differ:

United States Code Title 36 Chapter 3 — National Anthem, Motto, Floral Emblem, and March

§301. National anthem; Star-Spangled Banner

I. The composition consisting of the words and music known as The Star-Spangled Banner is designated the national anthem of the United States of America.

1. Conduct during playing — During rendition of the national anthem—

A. when the flag is displayed —

i. all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart;

ii. men not in uniform should remove their headdress with their right hand and hold the headdress at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart; and

iii. individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note; and

2. when the flag is not displayed, all present should face toward the music and act in the same manner they would if the flag were displayed.

That's nice. But next time you attend a sports event where the anthem is played look around and you'll just be glad that most people are standing.

The truth from Senator Obama’s own statement was they were playing The National Anthem, (Star Spangled Banner). I was in the military and it would be disrespectful to just stand there when the Star Spangled Banner is being played. Mr.Obama wants to be the leading chief of all armed forces.

Isn't that Hillary Clinton in the background? If you were standing with your back to Hillary Clinton, where would your hands be? (I know I'd have one on my wallet...)
