NEW YORK (AP) -- Twenty years after her allegations of a racially charged rape became a national flash point, Tawana Brawley's mother and stepfather want to reopen the case, a newspaper reported Sunday.
Glenda Brawley and Ralph King want to press New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer and state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to re-examine the November 1987 incident, which a state grand jury ultimately concluded was a hoax, the Daily News reported.

I’ll bet even Tawana wants her mother to shut up about it. Tawana knows very well that she didn’t get molested, much less raped, but she told the lie to her parents for so long that now Mom and Stepdad believe it and can’t let go. What a tangled web we weave . . .

There were two or three aspects of this case...which weren’t really answered. We still don’t know where she was for the four days, and she has yet to ever explain it...to her parents or the public. If it were all bogus...then at some point...you’d normally admit it and move on. In this case...she moved on...never admitting it. The fact that she hasn’t become a drugged out junkie...leads me to the curious situation of thinking that someone in the NY cop circles...was involved in this...and it wasn’t as bogus as we always thought. The strange thing today...is why bring this back up, unless they really truly believed in what she said.
schumer wanted to reopen an old civil rights case in Mississippi-until he found out that all elected officials in Miss at the time were Dems-at that point it went away.
I say re-open it. This is nothing more than attempt to throw mud on Rudy-and just like the crap that the union firefighters are getting ready to pull it will back fire on them. I want to see Sharpton put on the stand and forced to testify as part of the case.
