I am born and bred in Massachusetts

I am disgusted by the politics here, and I am regularly confounded by my neighbors.

Still, I am a bit offended by your post, but I’m not entirely pissed off.

You should know that I have friends and associates who are as confounded by the politics here as I am.

It ain’t as if we are all freaking ignorant.

I support Dr. Alan Keyes for President. While Romney was spending his career advancing every vile portion of the Left’s agenda, Alan was fighting him and his liberal friends every step of the way. That’s real leadership.

Anyone wanting to see the facts on Romney should go here:

Or, they could watch Mitt himself, pushing abortion-on-demand as hard as possible:

A smarmy liberal Republican trying to prove to the world that he loves baby-killing more than his Democrat opponent

The nomination must be won with delegates, not momentum. Mr. Romney needs to win Iowa, New Hampshire, and Michigan. “Winning” Nevada and South Carolina isn’t all that important. He must only get a respectable number of votes and win some delegates. The next big step will be winning at least a third and hopefully close to half of the delegates in Florida. If he accomplishes these things, he will be in a position to swing voters to his side on February 5. Even then, the race is not likely to be over on that day. He’ll still need to run well through February and March.

Bill

Folks - he's the real deal

Thanks for your testimony. Romney's the one candidate that might continue to be engaging after continued contact, mostly because he is smart and witty and personable. He has obviously worked hard on the issues and is able to communicate them in a most impressive manner.

I think he'll be the V.P. candidate if he doesn't get the top spot.

But I still wish he was strong on the Second Amendment...

Sorry! Hey, I’m in Pennsylvania (”another commonwealth”, like Massachusetts and Virginia) and things keep getting worse here. Still, we do maintain a 29- 21 majority in the Senate so at least we have a healthy firewall against Governor Rendell and the scumbag Democrat House. And we do have a good number of national House members who are Republican.

Anyway, I didn’t mean to offend you or other good freepers from Massachusetts - - I realize that every state has a share of great conservatives, including even New Jersey and California (a couple of other states that have flushed themselves down the Democrat toilet like corn-filled turds).

But just like I couldn’t vote for Specter, Kean, or Arnold, I can’t vote for Mitt.

FRegards,
LH

Yahoo! Go, Mitt. The hardest working candidate with fire in the belly and real family values, not to mention his conservative beliefs and record.

~”Intrade has Romney at only 5% to win Florida, despite Rasmussen’s kind words.”~

That’ll change dramatically if Romney manages to pull off the first states. I think it’ll be a squeeker, but we’ll see a lot of supporters of other candidates move to Romney as their only hope of stopping Giuliani.

~”“Winning” Nevada and South Carolina isn’t all that important.”~

He still needs to do very well in SC (at least second, and at least ahead of Giuliani) to provide him the boost he needs to beat Giuliani in FL. And I do think he has to take first place in FL to maintain the strength required to overcome Giuliani nationally.

Basically, Romney has to run the table if he’s to keep moving after Feb. 5. He’s positioning himself to do so, but there’s still plenty that can go wrong.

"Should Romney win 5 of the first 5 states, or even 4 or the first 5 states the attention he will generate and the support he will win cannot be overestimated.

It is hard to imagine Rudy Guiliani maintaining his support in the large states that come thereafter like Florida, California, and Illinois."

Exactly. A lot of people will be singing a different tune about Mitt after these wins. Pretty much the way I've seen it all along. : )

The race, at this point, is really between Mitt and Rudy.

As it becomes clearer, the reality of the contrast between the two, will bring a majority of conservatives and the powers that be in the GOP to Mitt's corner. Even some pundits, who have been pretty supportive of Rudy, like George Will, have begun to be far more critical of him.

"They underestimated Mitt."

A lot of people underestimated Mitt, and still do. They will continue to be surprised.

And in optimism, enthusiam and personal appeal!: )
