Many thanks for the ping. At this point there are so many careers built on erroneous conclusions concerning the matter that the truth may have to wait for history. That'd be just fine inasmuch as the media and the left will never leave off bashing Bush anyway, but at some point somebody is going to happen across the stuff that shouldn't exist and that won't be pleasant for anyone in the vicinity.

Those who hope that this information is safely ensconced within the intelligence community and will be properly disseminated should we have our own personnel in the danger zone don't know how the intelligence community works. The article gives a clue. It ain't pretty.

“According to US and British intelligence, a pair of retired Russian generals was sent to Iraq to deliver the bad news to Saddam. At the very end of 2002, the Russians persuaded a reluctant Saddam that CW and BW, while useful in massacring civilians, would have no impact on the well-equipped American and British forces. Leaving the weapons stockpile lying around would only confirm to the world that the Coalition had been justified in invading Iraq”

This was the SOP implementation of a Russian contingency policy called "sarindar" wherein questionable materials were to be removed from client states during crises to avoid incriminating the Russians.

SJ, thank you for posting this article. It is a long read, but a fascinating one.

One thing I wondered about is, with all of the info coming in from various sources that Saddam was moving his WMD weapons into Syria(and I am sure our intelligence knew it also)and that Russia was involved, why has the Administration not made this fact known?

My answer is: I think the Administration felt that Russia moving the weapons was actually a help to us to remove them from the theater of war where they could be used against our troops. So, the WH is reluctant to reveal the role of the Russians here.

This article also reveals more about China’s former and current involvement in the WMD programs of Iran and Syria.

A definite eye opener of an article, for sure.

Wow! Pulling this together into a video documentary would be outstanding.

Dry reading and my eyes are about to crack, but what a story!

"...US satellites have detected that Syria is now operating high speed centrifuges typically used to enrich uranium ore into weapons grade fuel for an atom bomb.[37] Syria has no commercial nuclear reactor, nor any natural deposits of uranium ore. What is Syria doing with nuclear centrifuges?[38] It has been reported that some tens of thousands of advanced P-2 centrifuges were manufactured in Malaysia for both Colonel Qaddafi and Saddam Hussein. Quaddafi's centrifuges have been accounted for. Saddam's centrifuges are still missing, and the Intelligence Summit is now asking the US government to make a priority search among the captured Saddam files for documents about the missing centrifuges, especially those written in Asian scripts...."

"...Great thread and yet the left will still deny it..."

No amount of denials will change the data on the centrifuges. They're spinning somewhere, and someone's making Industrial-Grade (read: Bomb) Uranium.

Methinks we'll find out soon where they're spinning - real soon ................................. FRegards

This world seems to be heading into James Bond scenarios where loonies with nukes want to take over the world.

Castro was the first. A loonie Marxist who put Russian Nuclear missiles on his little island. Almost caused Armageddon over that one.

I just finished reading this and want it bumped into the top for today so more people see it.

Your ref to finding out real soon where they're spinning--I'm taking that to mean when we see the next big plume of smoke over the formerly spinning centrifuges. Warms my heart, but not as warm as the maggots are going to get.

This should be required reading for you and all the other Ron Paul cult members.

Just show us the WMD or prove that they were disposed of or hidden.

I note that the U.S. government and the Bush administration does not make these claims and has long since abandoned the attempt.

You folks have a kind of reverse Trutherism here. You insist that everyone rely upon the 9/11 Commission findings to answer the Truthers, something I agree with strongly as I don't believe the Truthers have anything but wacko conspiracy theories and some lame architects (dime a dozen) to put window dressing on their ravings. Fine. So we accept that.

Yet, you insist that the government's own statements about WMD cannot be true and that you must rely upon outside sources to prove your case. These same sources do have, like the Truther "experts", a profit motive or are conspiracy nuts of some kind or have a political ax to grind. Or they just want to sell some books.

Make up your minds. Is the U.S. government version of 9/11 and WMD to be taken as a whole and considered valid? Or do you just get to pick and choose your preferred views?

Pick a standard. Stick with it. Me, I'm satisfied with the government's explanations of 9/11 and of WMD in Iraq.

French arms manufacturers, in other words, had been selling to Saddam right up to the opening of the war. They later explained that France had sold the Roland to Syria, and that Syria was not covered by the embargo. The French claimed to be shocked that Syria had sold the Roland to their fellow Ba'athists in Baghdad. It should be noted that, for more than a year prior to the French sale the Israeli press had been publicly exposing Syria as an arms front for Saddam.

Well, that explains the Frog's hand wringing prior to our invasion of Iraq.

It wasn't any "moral" issue...it was just the Frogs being pussies...they knew that they had been selling weapons to Iraq and didn't want to face them.

I hate the Frogs.

Correct 100%.

Rolf Ekeus mentions Saddam’s “Just In Time” Manufacturing and hid everything in civilian establishments for later use. Saddam was technically WMD free but if he felt threaten he would order the dual use supplies and equipment to a staging area to make CW.

The Far Left thinks that’s delusional thinking.

Saddam had no WMDs.
Bush Lied and Soldiers Died.

Timmerman mentions our troops finding barrels of pesticides at a Iraqi military post. The Far Left thinks this is nothing and we are grasping at straws but what did the Nazis used to exterminate the Jews?

The old leaking CW Shells we are finding in Iraq is downplayed by the Far Left too. Degraded means it won’t harm you and its Pre-Gulf War stuff....wasn’t Saddam suppose to get rid of everyhting?

CBW are cheap and deadly.
Al Queda were trying to create CWB/IED?

Remember in the Deulfer Report.
Saddam’s “bio vans” were just vans to fill Hydrogen Weather Balloons.

It appears very evil people were interested in balloons.

Ballons to launch Anthrax Bombs

“Finally, Updates reproduces a report from the latest Economist with new revelations from Kabul that an organisation associated with one of Pakistan’s top nuclear scientists was apparently attempting to build an anthrax bomb launched from a helium balloon.”

Anthrax plan pops out of Pak scientist’s cupboard

NEW DELHI: Sketches and calculations to make a helium-powered balloon bomb filled with anthrax have been found from the Kabul office of an NGO headed by Bashiruddin Mehmood, one of the two Pakistani nuclear scientists detained in Islamabad for questioning on their alleged links with Osama Bin Laden, The Economist has said.

Such a balloon bomb was capable of showering deadly anthrax over areas as vast as New York or Washington.

The “most chilling” items found from the Kabul premises included small bags of white powder and the “mass of calculations and drawings” of weather balloons with arrows indicating the suggested height of 10 km or 33,000 feet, said The Economist in its print edition.
