Calderon criticized what he called "the growing harassment" of Mexicans in the United States and said his administration will finance a media campaign to underline immigrant success stories.

Too bad he doesn't finance a campaign to attract legitimate business to his own country, so that millions will not feel the need to sneak into this country and commit identity theft in order to make a better life for themselves.

Right, AMERICAN presidential candidates should forego talking about a sure winner for said candidates because this country's enemy wants them to.

IMO whoever makes us believe he will actually close the borders and enforce existing immigration laws will be the next POTUS.

Mexican President Felipe Calderon took the unusual step Wednesday of injecting himself into U.S. presidential politics,

Since when did Mexico injecting itself into American politics become an "unusual step?"

"thematic hostages"

If they are hostages, they are hostages who smuggled themselves in. We certainly aren't holding them hostage. They are welcome to leave anytime. In fact, I'm such a compassionate conservative, I'd even pay for a nice sack lunch, air-conditioned bus ride and maybe even a cash payment for those who first volunteer to leave.

The next set of volunteers, would get a cold tortilla bean wrap, no cash payment but a nice air-conditioned bus.

The last volunteers would get only a free ride home in a non-air conditioned bus. Those who didn't volunteer and had to be located would get six months at hard labor in a desert work camp building fences and walls prior to deportation. The number of "hostages" in the last category is likely to be very minimal once we show we're serious.

Those hostage to the corrupt economic destroying policies of Mexico are another matter. We can send capitalist missionaries to help them if Mexico is willing to invite them.

IMO whoever makes us believe he will actually close the borders and enforce existing immigration laws will be the next POTUS.

In the end, not a one of them will do that. They've all seen the CIA reports and have agreed that the danger of a Communist revolution in Mexico is mortal, and the need to keep the safety valve of illegal immigration open is so geopolitically important that it trumps all other considerations, including the possibility of Islamic terrorists using the open border as a means of entry into the US.

The Mexican President needs to fix his country...that won’t happen until all his “citizens” are sent back to Mexico...crying for change and an end to corruption...deporting all illegals will help Mexico in the long run...

I think our Presidential candidates should simply return the favor.

The Mexican President wants to interject his opinions into our Presidential election process.

So I say that our elected leaders start actively saying things about what Mexico should do to improe its own economy so that Mexicans do not feel the need to come here in order to find a good life.

Right!! Anytime the socialists of the world, whether American or not, do not want the voters to know what they are doing, they ask, request, or demand that the subject not be an issue in the races.

Look at the last elections where the Dems only wanted to discuss their issue, and felt that the social issues were just a ‘wedge’ to divide Americans, instead of the issues that were actually important.

El Jefe Calderon has been taking chutzpah lessons from the “palestinians”. Mexico is becoming the “palestine” of the Western Hemisphere; same sense of entitlement, same endless “demands”, same great big pain in everyone’s caboose.

Are you saying that, to avoid Mexico becoming Communist, we need to let them come here and vote Communist/Democrat instead?

If that moron actually paid a bit more attention to his OWN domestic problems/policy...there would be 90% less of a problem of his countrymen fleeing.
