UNC Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is sponsering a protest march from "the pit" on campus to the local Chapel Hill Recruiting Center, downtown. They promise it will end in "creative action" at the recruiting center. SDS page
Previous "creative action" has resulted in three paint vandalism attacks on military facilities in Chapel Hill in the last year, once at the ROTC office and twice on this very recruiting station. ROTC attack pics recruiting station attack
Furthermore, the rally is organized by Kosta Harlan, notable for his article "The Iraqi Resistance is Just, and Should be Supported" in which he brags of increased attacks on US soldiers as a sign of the strength of the resistance. He has traveled to Iran and personally met with members of the Iraqi insurgency. The article can be found here
Gathering of Eagles is looking to protect the center from further vandalism, and to stick up for our troops in harms way. Last time SDS marched, I stood alone with Old Glory to block their path downtown. Who will join me this time? I need your help!
Tony Stevenson, Orange County NC Coordinator
The details: They plan to assemble at the Pit at 3, and march at 3:30, arriving at the Recruiting Station approximately an hour later for their "creative action". I'd like to see people start to assemble at 3 if possible, at the recruiting station site. From there we can decide if we have the turnout to confront them on the march route, or consolidate to protect the station.
The station is located here at 1502 E. Franklin Street, on the S. Estes drive side of the street. There is some parking located there as well, if the lots around it fill up we can redirect traffic as it comes in.
I didn’t realize these anti-American lunatics were still around.
Here’s a chant, “Rubber Bullets, Pepper Spray; Make The Traitors Go Away.”
Why would “Iraqi” insurgents be in Iran? You don’t suppose they’re really “Iranian” do you. Give them a whiff of the Grape.
When I was an undergrad at NC State, we had a saying when using the toilet:
Flush twice! Its a long way to Chapel Hill.

Go ta Hell, Carolina, go ta Hell!

The real Tar Heels from the War between the states would puke to see these scumbags.
Whoops, stuck in a time warp, there.
Thanks! I’ll get some “truth about SDS” flyers ready for handouts if I have time!
They make no secret of the fact that they want violence. Just imagine if some pro life or 2d amendment supporting group spouted threats like this. They’d probably be hauled off to prison for merely suggesting such an action. Meanwhile their friends in the media and Hollywood scream that Bush and the far right are the extremists, and they threaten dissenters. What bull. It is these stalinist scumbags who truly threaten free speech, yet they have their actions protected.
see my tag. Widh I could be there.
Yea, this sort of business at Chapel Thrill was why I went to State. Although I probably would have had more girlfriends...
Girlfriends? I didn’t know what a girlfriend was until I
went to grad school! They have girls at NCSU! WOW!!!!!
When did this happen!!!??? I feel cheated!

Wasn’t that a GREAT win over Carolina last Saturday??? I was going, YES!!!!!!! when I read it in Sunday’s paper! NCSU managed to break the 3 year losing streak to UNC. Boy, a lot of prayers were being said! God was on NCSU’s side! LOL
ANY win is a great win over Crapel Hill!
And remember: Flush twice. Its a long way to Chapel Hill!

That’t the only kind of people you find in Chapel Hill.
Call ahead to local Law and tell ‘em you have inside info that a gang of vandals are headed uptown to “tag” the Recruiting Office. Tell them plainly that the vandals are planning to hide within the ranks of the protestors marching from the school, effectively using them as “cover” so they can conduct their illegal activity and escape arrest.
Also, IIRC, Recruiting Offices are Federal property, so that should warrant infomration being passed along to the FBI and the applicable service branch. Also, call and find out whether any local installations can spare a few MP’s to stand guard.
Don’t know what all may be possible, here; just throwing out plausible ideas.
