Why the Ron Paul Campaign is Dangerous
NewsBull ^ | November 11, 2007 | JB Williams

I hate wasting this much press time on Ron Paul. But the Paul campaign is becoming a real threat to the Republican primary process and if allowed to continue, he will take votes away from the most conservative Republican candidates in the party, not the most liberal. This is bad for the party and the country.

(snip)

So, how Republican is Republican candidate Ron Paul?

If he’s funded largely by anti-war leftists, from Democrat stronghold districts and counting on Democrats, Libertarians and members of the Green Party to win the Republican nomination, not very…

“Ron Paul has always been a Republican. Even when he ran for president on the Libertarian ticket, he remained a Republican.”

Meaning he LIED to the people.

I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out but as I post videos frequently on youtube under the name “DrArbitrage” and I view other’s vids, I have noticed that Ron Paul followers dominate the Hades out of that place and post comments on every single video relevant to politics (including every one of mine).

What I saw that caught my interest were notes to Dems when the particular state deadlines were for them to SWITCH their party affiliation to Republican so they could vote for “Dr. Paul”. I haven’t seen anything in the media about this but it would be an interesting expose’.

Who know how many of these “anarchist”/Marxists have registered as Republicans. Anyone have knowledge on whether there have been substantial pchanges in party affiliation?

“Says the filthy, guttermouthed little troll who oh-so-charmingly told a United States soldier to “go ****” herself just this morning”

No?

A paul supporter telling a service member to “go ****” herself?

I was told by one of paul’s campaign workers that I should be shot for treason, so I’m not the slightest bit surprised by what was said above.

“It’s called activism, partner - something that FR used to engage in but now they frown on it since nobody is doing it for their approved candidate.”

Uh no, in the case of you paul supporters it’s called SPAMMING. I know of several sites where the admin are fed up with it and they’ve started “troll hunting”.

“Tell me, why aren’t nobody “bombarding” the other candidate’s message board?”

You paul supporters ARE “bombarding” other message boards. The reason why everyone else doesn’t is because A.) We have jobs and B.) We have a life.

“Paul had nothing to do with it.”

Thats because his “handlers” over at the alex jones show did.

“If he didn’t have a chance, there wouldn’t be none of this bellyaching and moaning, along with the cheesy pics and hit-pieces taking parts of his Survival Report newsletter out of context.”

He doesn’t have a chance. And the reason why rational people are complaining is because we’re sick and tired of your BS. We’re sick and tired of telling you people the same damn thing over and over and over again.

As far as cheesy pics and hit pieces.....Your ilk are just as guilty.

And what your heerow said has NOT been taken out of context. Hell next you’ll probably say that he never wrote any of it, and that it was really someone else with the same name as him or some BS like that.

“Paul is not going to drop out of the race FOR YOU.”

The point is, he should drop out.

He has no grasp on reality. He thinks that all we need is a dozen submarines to protect us and that Iran has no military.

He claims to support the troops yet he has voted against giving the troops pay raises. Voted against funding for new family housing and renovations to commissaries and exchanges. He has voted against funding for body armor and better armored vehicles. He want’s to get rid of the VA. Etc, etc ,etc.

He claims to be against pork spending unless it’s for his district.

I can go on and on but I have already been through all this with you.

“Either you accomodate him & his supporters and join together to defeat the REAL menace that is Hillary, or we can keep fighting each other over degrees in issues and watch Hillary win in a landslide.”

Oh the majority has to accomodate YOU? Sorry but it doesn’t work like that, and this isn’t Burger King where you can have it YOUR WAY.

As it’s been stated before, hillary will crush ron paul in the general election. In the general election paul will LOSE by anywhere between 10 to 20 points.

“What inflated poll numbers? Polls routinely show Paul at no better than 5%. So how are leftists inflating his numbers?”

We’ve been over this before.

His numbers are at 5% among conservative voters who are going to be voting in the primaries.

The online polls are the ones being spammed because 9 times out of 10 there are little to no safeguards to prevent skewing of those polls.

“So does that makes Paul a leftists? I would say that traditional liberals concerned over the war and civil liberties are switching to Paul. But it doesn’t make any sense to say that leftists are supporting Paul. Paul’s record is anything but leftist. If they’re supporting him, then they’re just cutting off their noses.”

AUGH!!!!!!!

One more time for the short bus rider.....

The leftists are crossing over to vote in the primary with the intent to skew the election. And just because they switched over doesn’t mean that they’re going to vote for paul in the general election.

The democrats WANT paul to win the nomination because he is the WEAKEST candidate that we could possibly put up against hillary.

Do you not see that? Are you that incapable of connecting the dots? It doesn’t take a PhD in Quantum Physics to see that the democrats finally found a way to get away with rigging the election. Ever since the 2000 election they have been developing “dirty tricks” so they can retain their power. It’s been all over DU and other leftist websites in one form or another and it was documented here IIRC.

Yes, it is very much a defining characteristic. American vs. non-American.

You need to become acquainted with the majority of Americans who think that the greatest threat to our liberty — to our very existence as a sovereign nation — is from our federal government, not from some medieval group of insane Islamists.

You might learn something valuable about the real America.

Assuming of course that that has any value to you.

"I am looking into offering an updating filterlist for AdBlock Plus that is only for RP supporters. It will block ads from sites that are nasty to RP but allow you to consume their stories without helping their ad revenue. So they would get traffic but no ad displays. Or it could be used to disable (by default) all access to anti-RP sites completely (though a user could click and re-enable it if they choose). Such a filterlist could be controlled by a small committee of RP supporters who decide on a weekly basis which sites to reward with clicks and ad revenue and increased traffic and which sites to punish."

Lenin would be proud.

Did you catch Glenn Beck's radio program today? He was VERY positive on Ron Paul, saying that he was the only one that gets it economically. Which is of course the truth.

Why don't you post the transcript so that we can all see how Glenn Beck is coming around to endorsing Ron Paul?

You mean like this transcript

Ron Paul Caller
OCTOBER 10, 2007

GLENN BECK PROGRAM
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT

CALLER: You guys just love to joke about Ron Paul. First of all, he doesn’t try to promote that he’s the only antiwar candidate. That’s what the media likes to promote.

GLENN: Hang on. Is this what you called about where you’ve been holding all this time and you called about refuting the fact that we were just saying? What did you call about?

Results from our SPAM free Insider Presidential Poll...

CALLER: Well, I wanted to put up a challenge to you actually.

GLENN: Oh, okay.

CALLER: But I wanted to get on what you two were just speaking about.

GLENN: All right, go ahead. Go ahead. You do that and then you do your challenge.

CALLER: Okay. See, he has two challenges. The socialists that are antiwar don’t like Ron Paul. He promotes free market principles.

GLENN: I know.

CALLER: He wants to get rid of the public education system and introduce free markets.

GLENN: I’m in love with that.

CALLER: He doesn’t believe in socialized medicine.

GLENN: Right.

CALLER: He doesn’t want to get out of the war. He’s not antiwar. He’s against the Iraq war because it wasn’t declared. He voted to go into Afghanistan.

GLENN: Right.

CALLER: He understands the —

GLENN: Not really but I’ll give it to you.

CALLER: Not really?

GLENN: On Afghanistan not really.

CALLER: Okay. Well, maybe they recorded it wrong in congress.

GLENN: Oh, that happens all the time. No, no, he voted for it but what he really wanted was a police action. He was fine — he just wanted to go get the bad guys. He didn’t want to — he didn’t want to take out the Taliban. He just wanted to take out the bad guys. I mix the bad guys in with the Taliban but that’s just me, I’m sure. But anyway, so what’s your challenge, Jeff? What’s your challenge?

CALLER: He just jumped out of the tent and told me what he was thinking. I’ll just do to my challenge.

GLENN: He’s on the record.

CALLER: I was hoping you’d have Ron Paul on your show and there would be one stipulation. Because you guys just want to say that he promotes himself only as the antiwar candidate. Have him on your show and talk about free market principles, talk about the public —

GLENN: Here’s the deal, Jeff, here’s the deal. Here’s the deal. I’m not taking anymore Ron Paul calls, ever. You’re going to have to come up with something else and then try to get through the phone screener and I’ll hang up on you and I’ve got enough delay, I will delete all Ron Paul stuff from this program if, if I hear another person tell me, Jeff, that I should invite Ron Paul on this program. Ron Paul has been invited on this program. You guys are so duped by this guy, you don’t even know who you’re dealing with. Ron Paul — you should get him on the program, you should have him talk, you should let him speak, let him talk about these things. That’s fine. I’ve offered. I’ve offered. In fact, the first time I offered, he cancelled on us at the last minute. It was weird. And so I’m a little ticked off at Ron Paul’s credibility because something came up at the last moment and because I happen to work in the same building as Wolf Blitzer, I know who that little something was that came up. He decided to go onto Wolf Blitzer’s show and not mine because that was the only time that they could tape him for Wolf Blitzer. So integrity really kind of comes into question with Ron Paul. But, hey, we all have choices to make. That’s cool.

So we have invited him on. I’ve invited him for an hour, we’ve invited him for the radio program. By the way, all of the Republican candidates have been on the radio program, have they not? I believe all of the Republican candidates have been on except for Ron Paul and Fred Thompson and all of the candidates, if I’m not mistaken, have given us a tentative yes for the television show. We’re scheduling them now. Ron Paul won’t even take the phone calls. So I tell you what, I’m going to turn this back on you. You get Ron Paul to come on this program. You guys are activists. You go ahead and get Ron Paul to be on this program and then I’ll have him on the program. You have him call me instead of having you call me. Let him call me. You call him. How is that? Until that time, no more of the propaganda Ron Paul comments because I’m sick of them. Because you know what? I agree with libertarians more than not. I’m a libertarian at heart. But I’m tired of the libertarian bullcrap. How is it I’m getting a — I’m getting these calls from these countries — from all over the country today. I mean, I’m not taking them all on the air. I’m getting calls from places, the last caller in Detroit. I’m not even in Detroit. That’s weird. You just decided today. Doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that I ratted Ron Paul out last night on being mayor of crazy town. It wouldn’t have anything to do with that.

This is how the Glenn Beck radio show transcript really translated using lines from the Jim Carrey movie Dumb and Dumber.

LLOYD

No, that's not what I meant. I meant... I really like you, Mary. I like you a lot.

She smiles at this.

LLOYD (CONT.)

I'm gonna ask you something flat out and I want you to answer me honestly: What do you think the chances are of a girl like you and a guy like me ending up together?

Mary is obviously thrown by this question.

MARY

Lloyd, that's difficult to say. I mean we hardly --

LLOYD

--I asked you to be honest, Mary.

MARY

But Lloyd, I really can't --

LLOYD

--Come on, give it to me straight. I drove a long way to see you, the least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?

MARY

Not good.

BEAT

LLOYD

You mean not good, like one out of a hundred?

MARY

I'd say more like one out of a million.

BEAT

LLOYD

(Duh) So you're telling me there's a chance?

It also means that I and anyone else who wants smaller government and understands that means not getting more government programs are out of place in and out of step with the Republican Party. We can count on them to field candidates who will "talk the talk" on the campaign trail, but if we want someone who will "walk the walk" once elected we're going to have to look elsewhere, because they aren't having it.

Sounds like the Republicans are about to go the way of the Whigs.

Posting the transcript didn't do much for your arguement and confirmed totally what we have been saying. We support Libertarian ideals on FR, but Ron Paul is mayor of crazy town.

Posting my favorite parts again, just because Glenn Beck said what I have been trying to say, but he said it better.

Dang... I missed that. Haven't gotten out much lately here in northeast Azatlan. Amazing that that many people found motivation of any kind here in leftist Pueblo...:-)

I wasn't talking about that, that transcript seems to be just Glen ranting about not wanting to take Ron Paul calls. If he thinks Dr. Paul has questionable integrity, I totally disagree, even people who hate his ideas acknowledge that Paul is honest and a good guy.

I was referring to another show, where Glen Beck made some misleading statements.

You obviously believe you are that important.

You can't help but respond to me, so "obviously" I am.

I changed 5 or 6 words to come up with that parody.

No, really? What a value-add.

Did you come to this thread for political reasons, or just to waste your time with parody criticism?

Ah yes, irony: a person who posted a clumsy song parody on a thread completely unrelated to the subject of that song parody now finds it offensive that I've come to this thread for reasons unrelated to its subject. You brought me here; or, more specifically, I was alerted to your whining about me by another Freeper. Feel free to blame your girlish behavior if you don't like it.
