You don't always need that piece of Latin-laden paper to pull in six figures. You don't need to invent something to get rich. And you don't need to look far for a lucrative opportunity.
There are plenty of honest livings to be made in the U.S workforce that can earn you six-figure salaries sans a college degree. That's not to say you won't be required to undergo extensive training or work long hours, but at least you won't be lugging around that student debt. It's important to note that they're not all "blue-collar" jobs, a term that has become outdated when describing skilled-trade work.

I knew a LOT of the older drivers who just had that independent streak in them - there was no other job they’d ever want, than the road.
Most company drivers when I did it, never got overtime - it was mileage and stop pay. Those kind of things were for Teamsters, and not us. And the animosity between the union drivers and the “scabs” was palpable.
The longest I was out was seven weeks, and a lot of that was sitting stranded in California with no load getting me out of there.

An old friend owns a small (10 employee) plumbing outfit in Maryland. He has a sing up all year long for good help. He PAYS his journeymen plumbers $80 hour plus benefits. He said the big plus is there is NO competition from illegals since you must be licensed. And there is plenty overtime. There are some doctors in HMO plans that don’t bring that home now.
Fisherman, farmer, rancher, stripper, porn star, car wash owner, U-haul-type franchise, Self-storage franchise, UPS franchise, guide, tow truck owner, caterer, business liasson contractor to government agencies or politicians, lobbyest, parking lot owner, drag strip owner, show biker, show dragster, show drifter, car show promoter, oil lease agent (you go talk to land owners to get them to lease you their land for drilling)...
You have to *try* to earn less than $100k in the U.S.
Making money here is pathetically easy.
You probably don't want that job. Imagine spending all day with a character icon thumping into a spot on the wall, now jump into that spot. Now move sideways into that spot. Now do each of those things while firing. Now do them with a backpack on. Now do it with each of the different weapons equiped. Now do all of that for the doorway. Now repeat all of htose with your equipment inventory open.
After the programmer makes changes, do it all over again.
I have only a high school degree, and I make just under the six figure mark. I found a niche in the science & technology field, and made myself (nearly) invaluable. I work my tail off, though...I have my primary job, plus I started my own one-man technical consulting business. It’s all relative though...I live in the most expensive area of the country, so that salary doesn’t go far.
I don't know squat about that field but is it something that could be done while self employed? Consulting or contract work?
I made pretty good money as an employee and while it was scary as all get out to get started I ended up doing much better being self employed. If someone is in an area that lends itself to being independent and has a good work ethic I highly recommend self employment as something to consider.
Just think; if you work hard all the benefits come to you, not your employer.
They told me that my high school football position wasn't available in the Pros. I was the tackling dummy.
They are leaving off actors, musicians, and writers.
Lottery Scratch Card Scratcher....it takes work to get up early at 1000am...use your welfare check and walk out of your trailer to the 7-11 to buy your scratch offs.

I guess we need to define elite. I would have never included in elite Boston College or Vanderbilt or a State school like UCLA however, they are now included. 20 years ago, these CEO’s were at that level and they were not elite schools.
I take that back, many of them may not have made over 100K, but still a pretty good living. Union members across the country are overpaid because they use government to secure monopolies or projects.

I think I am trying to say everyone needs to be proud of what they achieve and when someone tries to impress you with college achievements, you need to put it into perspective.
The art of greatness, is to be humble.
I tried a few Indian technical writers. They could not write for sh*t. Learned my lesson. Only Americans from now on. Coding? Also Indian coders are now too expensive. I find I get better deals and better results from local college kids now.
You also have to be built like a linebacker, if on the floor.
Plumbers in Anchorage make $30+ an hour, plus benefits.
Pipe-fitters, a bit more.
Welders, $65/hr when there is work to be had.
Six figure job you don’t need degree for:
Selling grandma’s attic heirlooms on eBay.
