There is ongoing litigation over rerouting trains with dangerous or toxic cargos that now run through Washington, D.C. So far they are still allowed to run, despite close proximity to the Capitol. I hope these aren’t tank cars full of chlorine gas.

I believe the cars are filled with coal. Several fell into the river, apparently.

We also probably know that this is not terror-related. That pronouncement was probably uttered before the first car hit the water.

Who cares about toxic cargos?
The VRE trains are shut down. It’s gonna be a memorable commute.

If toxic wastes fall into the Anacostia River, how would anyone know?

CNN seems to have taken the story down.

Algore's carbon credits?...........LOL! Yes, but only enough credits to cover about a half-day of Al's super-sized lifestyle.

I hope these arent tank cars full of chlorine gas. Anhydrous ammonia can be pretty nasty, too.

I believe the cars are filled with coal. Several fell into the river, apparently.Since they fell in SouthEast DC, watch for Jackson and Sharpton to make the waterway pollution into a race issue.
