A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, 2006 - the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Will you and JK be coming to the rally tonight? It should be a good one. I think we are going to have to pass on this one, Amy, as much as we would like to be there. Chachi is doing okay, but is still having a problem with his back legs, so the nerve must still be pinched some. I don't want to leave him with my mom and have him take a turn for the worse while we are gone. She has night blindness and wouldn't be able to drive him to the emergency vet.

Give Chachi a hug from Marissa and me.
The next rally will be on Marissa’s birthday. Don’t know who will want to join us but Friend Ann, Marissa and I will be eating at Red Robin after the rally. :^)
She has already asked if Syncro will be there. When I told her I didn’t know, she asked about you and JK.

Thanks for asking about my Chachi. He is improving day by day, but it is a very slow process. He still seems to be having problems feeling his back legs, so sometimes they skid out from under him. It's hard to keep him from jumping and running and possibly doing more damage to his back. He isn't in any pain though (and that's why it's hard fro us to keep him calmed down), thanks to the pain/anti-inflamatory meds he gets every day. We take him back in to see the vet on the 15th.

We are having a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese on Saturday but I told her that her birthday was on the first Friday and asked where she wanted to eat. She said Red Robin!!!
I'm glad she didn't say Elephant Bar. :)
I don't know whether they take reservations; I know they are really busy on Friday nights. (And Saturdays)

Veterans Day, November 11, 2007
We Remember
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Thank you, Dear Amy, and this Time of the Year is So Beautiful, with the Brilliantly-Colored Leaves Dotting the Landscape! For Some Reason, there has been a Butterfly Explosion Here, with Many Alighting Constantly on the Small White Daisies in the Yard for Several Weeks; just So Pretty. Thanks be to our Lord for All these Blessings from His Hand!

Back from the wild goose chase day to top all.. waited almost 2 hours to talk to my friend in hospital who was in therapy.. BUT NOT IN THERAPY.. was in surgery & when returned to room all drugged up & the nurse said it would be a couple hours til coversation would be possible.
Hospital two - 40 miles away. My friend released 2 hours earler & lives where I just came from, near the other hospital.
Hospital three - arrived to find her three sisters there & they were all agruing about my friends will.. can you believe that one. I gave her the gift a hug & wispered in the ear on way out good luck
Did get my dogs out for about an hour so the day was not a total loss.. sigh.
Dinner/movie date tonight but I am so wiped out & have such a big day tomorrow I might just cancel & replace with easy evening home, long/hot bath, & early to bed.
