Seriously,

The former 2LT Radix JR went to one of the biggest powerhouse football high schools in the USA.

That school is not so big anymore as it once was, but I am certain that the recruiters still make a decent living watching those boys play.

Every year football scholarships are still available to at least a few of my former neighbors.

The former 2LT never played a Down, though I sort of wished that he at least tried to make the team. He had his reasons for not even trying.

Oh well, fathers can learn wisdom from sons, and I include myself among such.

Wow.

My home team was the subject of the movie “Friday Night
Lights”. It’s BIG here...and the team is doing very well
again this year!

On Aug. 11, 1919, a score or more husky young athletes, called together by Curly Lambeau and George Calhoun, gathered in the dingy editorial room of the old Green Bay Press-Gazette building on Cherry Street and organized a football team. They didn't know it, but that was the beginning of the incredible saga of the Green Bay Packers.

"Doc...has Fred made it home?"

My nephew, Fred, made it home about a week ago. He is at Ft Bragg and got a few days off to get reacquainted with his wife. I only bothered him with one long phone call after he returned. He is readjusting fine and can drive down the road without worrying about IED's but he still doesn't like people "milling around" behind him. He should have some nice pics when he finally gets settled in and I'll be happy to post those that are appropriate. All praise goes to God for bringing him home safe. He saw a lot of action and lost some very close friends.

Thanks for asking about him.

FReegards,
DocRock

I keep pics of him on my homepage

Thanks to your Coasties, past and present, for their service to our country.
