Drone missile kills five near Miramshah (Martial Law,US predators in Pakistan, good combo)

Five people were killed and six others wounded when a missile, allegedly fired from a US drone, hit a suspected militant compound near the Pak-Afghan border in the restive North Waziristan agency on Friday.

Residents said a pilotless US drone fired two missiles into the compound in Dandi Darpakhel in the outskirts of Miramshah at around 1.30 in the afternoon.

They said that one of the missiles did not explode while the other hit the target, razing the compound. “It looked as if nothing had stood there before,” a resident of the area said.

The identity of the people killed was not immediately available, but residents said that the compound was used by a militant commander. At least two of the wounded were said to be of Uzbek origin.

The wounded were given first aid and taken away by men associated with the militant commander from South Waziristan.

One of those wounded in the attack included the compound’s caretaker Noor Khan Mehsud. A vehicle and two motorcycles parked inside the compound were destroyed.

The compound is located near the madressah of Taliban leader Jalaluddin Haqqani.

Militants sealed off the entire area and did not allow anyone to get to the compound. Some residents put the death toll at 10 and the number of wounded at 12.

Reuters adds: The Pentagon said the US military did not carry out a missile strike on Friday in the Waziristan region.

“There was no indication that there was any US military asset,” said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman after speaking with US military officials in Afghanistan.

Looks like our boys found a HVT and took him and his cronies out with a Predator and a few Hellfires. The fact that the militants acted s oqucikly to surround the place and remove the dead indicates it was probably a big target.

It would sure be nice if Fox News would cover today’s events. I hate relying on CNN.

(from the french): "The more things change, the more they remain the same."

Maybe someone in the UAV program has been watching History Channel's
"Dogfights", especially the Vietnam-era shows.

When you absolutely, positively want to cap the b@$tards,
"ripple-fire" those missles!

(I'm a non-aviator, never-served civilian, so I hope I understood
correctly that "ripple-fire" is the term for launching more
than one missle in quick succession to up the possibility of
hitting the target.)

Miram Shah is very close to the Afghanistan border and served as the jumping off point for mujahideen bound for the former Bin Laden camp at Khost in Paktia province. It is likely tha this was a very good hit.

I would like that better if it read, "The compound is located near the former location of the madressah of Taliban leader Jalaluddin Haqqani" -- iow, two targets hit.

They did blowed up real good.... Kind of interesting here... hell fires pack a punch but I dont think enough to level an entire compound. Wonder if they have super charged them or are using a new missile?

I doubt we'll be getting real time - in terms of day to day - updates...and what we do get will be a mere shadow of what is really going on and who and what are doing what - whose coordinating with whom and so on/ And AMEN to that!

We do not need every move broadcast nor do we need the armchair generals, MSM pundits and traitor dimRats spouting off.

Let's pray this is a pincher op with US and Mushie - hoping that Mushie's usual tactic of lobbing a few bombs and then pulling back was because of constraints on him, that may be null and void...I hope that's the case -

There is a thermobaric version of the Hellfire, AGM-114N as well as a blast/frag version, AGM-114M. Both of these beauties make a VERY satisfying bang.
