How'd she get in?
Vanity

Posted on 10/25/2007 12:12:05 PM PDT by steve8714

Admittance to hearings is not by queue. How did this Desiree Farooz get, not only into the hearing room, but close to Mme. Rice? Which moonbat authorized her entry? Is there any way to find out?

You don’t need a pass to get into Congressional hearings, but you have to go through building security and, for a hearing like this, you have to get there about 5 a.m. to stand in line to get into the room, if you are not staff, press or a participant, because all the hearing rooms have occupancy limits. I am certain Code Pink hires line-standers. All the lobbyists do. I can’t see that group of unemployed harpies actually getting there early and standing in line themselves. In addition, in the hearing rooms, there is no physical barrier between the witnesses and the audience.

Doesn't sound very safe when you have someone like the Sec. of State behind the podium. Don't understand how anyone could get that close.

My question is: where was Security. They get the Sec of State coming in, and they have NO SECURITY near her?

How do you get through security with your hands painted RED?

Sheesh.

O’Reilly noted this week that eventually something very very bad is going to happen as these kooks get more frenzied.

The hearings rooms are set up so that the members are sitting on a raised platform. The witnesses sit at a witness table facing the platform, and behind the witness table there are chairs for the audience, which also is facing the platform, that is, the witnesses have their backs to the audience, and there is no physical barrier between the witness and the audience. {There are a few hearing rooms that have a low barrier between the audience and the witnesses, but it is no obstacle to passage.) Someone like Rice would have her security people sitting in the first row of the audience, or at the witness table with her, and/or standing off to the side. As I understand it, this episode occurred before the hearing started, and Rice had not yet seated herself at the witness table. I still can’t imagine how her security let that woman get so close. I really think this needs to be re-thought.

From this YouTube footage to looks like security was right on thing. Also it does not appear that Medea Benjamin left peaceable when ask as she claims but had to be pulled form the room.

I just wish that Condi had smacked the moonbat right across the chops. I know she was tempted.

You don't. You put it on after you are inside. Looks like it could be the beet soup from the Dirksen North Servery.

Hmmm. I thought they searched them, ‘wanded’ them and did a pat down, and checked bags.

Guess not.

One of these nutcases is going to bring a weapon to one of these committee meetings before all is said and done.

Perhaps the State Department should expand its contract with Blackwater to provide domestic security for VIPs....

Found this little tidbit from: http://www.internationalrelations.house.gov/110/rules110.PDF

RULE 13. STAFF SERVICES
The Committee staff shall be selected and organized so that it can provide a comprehensive range of professional services in the field of foreign affairs to the Committee, the subcommittees, and all its Members. The staff shall include persons with training and experience in foreign affairs, making available to the Committee individuals with knowledge of major countries, areas, and U.S. overseas programs and operations.

Subject to clause 9 of rule X of the House of Representatives, the staff of the Committee, except as provided in paragraph (c), 9 shall be appointed, and may be removed, by the Chairman with the approval of the majority of the Members in the majority party of the Committee. Their remuneration shall be fixed by the Chairman, and they shall work under the general supervision and direction of the Chairman. Staff assignments are to be authorized by the Chairman or by the Chief of Staff under the direction of the Chairman.

Supposedly, the Deputy Chief of Staff of this Committee was the one calling for the Code Pinker to be released. Wonder if he had a hand in allowing that person into the hearing. This Committee is headed by Tom Lantos.

To get in the building, they have to go through a fairly sensitive metal detector. The bags are checked. If the detector beeps, they are wanded. I have never seen anyone be patted down. That is how they caught Senator Webb’s handmaiden with a gun in his briefcase last summer. I imagine there are ways to get a weapon into those buildings, but not if you go in through a regular entrance. Even the trucks that deliver mail and food and stationary and equipment are x-rayed and inspected before they can enter the perimeter.

Hmmm.

Bottom line remains somebody is going to get hurt, or worse, if they keep letting the kooks have this kind of access.

this is just ridiculous. the Secretary of State 3rd, 4rth in line to Presidency?) approached in such a manner... what if the Pinko had fashioned a weapon of sorts and struck her during the hearings. I think whoever allowed this Pinko to come in and do her show should be dragged before a Congressional Hearing. that wacko reminded me of Carrie the movie.

How is it that a woman from Arlington, Texas decides to travel to Washington DC to participate in this act of civil disruption?
