Why the liberals want the U.S. to lose the war in Iraq
Hernando Today. ^ | Oct 18, 2007 | COL. DONALD J. MYERS (Ret.)

Posted on 10/19/2007 10:08:06 AM PDT by george76

This past week convinced me that the left, especially the Democratic Congress, does not appreciate the fact that we are at war. When one is in a war, one attempts to amass as many allies as possible...

The adage, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" holds true.

During World War I, the Ottoman Empire, Turkey, killed over a million Armenians. Today, we call that genocide. Our Congress led by the Democrats picked this particular time to announce to the world how wrong that was and passed a resolution in a committee. Now the speaker, Ms. Pelosi, is trying to have the entire House pass this resolution. As a result, Turkey has recalled its ambassador, and is massing troops on the Iraqi border to deal with Kurdish rebels who conduct raids across the border into Turkey. Much of our supplies to support our troops in the war in Iraq pass through or over Turkey.

Why would our Democratic-led Congress pick this particular time to bring up this issue? There is only one reason -- to make it more difficult for the U.S. to win this war in Iraq.

Sen. Harry Reid has declared that the war is lost.

Rep. John Murtha has accused Marines of murder before any investigation, and investigations have proved that he was wrong.

The current resolution is merely another ploy to make it more difficult to win this war, especially since the surge is doing so well.

Since the left has done so much to make it more difficult to win this war, then they will be unable to revel in any type of victory.

Therefore, they must do whatever is necessary to ensure that victory does not occur.

How long are you going to allow the commies on the left to go and steal the peoples resolve for this war?

That is what the people on the left are trying to do. It is their goal and objective.

And I am sure that I am using a lot more humor then a terrorist does.

You want to take it literal, then have fun.

I want people to remove the traitors from office. I want people to understand the line that the traitors have crossed.

And don't tell me I dont have a right to call them a traitor. Apparently, they have the right to act like one. And if that is the case, I got the right to call them a traitor.

I would hope that it is God's will to remove these people from power.

I guess I should hook up with a Muslim?

LOL, I think...

Go for the other "M" religion, get a Morman!

(BTW, I am *not* LDS)

“Just tell me when open season on traitors begins. Does anybody know the date? I want to go scout out a good place to set up a Commie lick”

The statement was a segue into the comic (humor) strip.

Agree 100%.

This reminds me of having a verbal fight with a co-worker, two years ago. He kept swearing at Bush, the Conservatives and the “aggressive militarism”. He labeled everything as “Neocon(s)”.

I answered him “but Neocoms like you........” He said what? I’m no Neocon! So, I spelled it slowly to him: N e o c o M.

I have never seen such a violent reaction from him before. His neck veins popped out and he was so furious he couldn’t say a darn thing.

I knew then that I hit a nerve for a very simple reason; it’s absolutely correct
!

This should get you all fired up:

If they ever do come up with a Traitors Hunters License, by God I would own one:

You like that segue better?

“Just tell me when open season on traitors begins. Does anybody know the date? I want to go scout out a good place to set up a Commie lick”

One more thing before I blow a gasket:

Tell me genius, how am I like a terrorist?

With the above statement, for me to be able to hunt a traitor, there would have to be a season declared in which one would get licensed to hunt them down like you do a big ol' buck. So, this would be a very legal act, if such a law were passed. Which it will never be, but danged if it wouldn't be a hoot if it was.

How's it do on stains?

“Tell me genius, how am I like a terrorist?”

One can surmise that you are posting pictures of people in the constitutional line of succession, accusing them of being traitors, and then stating “when is it open season on traitors”, implying you supported hunting them down might make you pretty much like a terrorist at least in objective, don’t you?

Explain it to the FBI, I’m sure they’ll understand, Josie.

Enjoy your Missouri Boat Ride.....

It’s probably less prosecutable than the previous version you posted.

Why don’t you just turn yourself in?

“The statement was a segue into the comic (humor) strip.”

Let’s clear this up, once and for all: Do you or do you not support hunting and killing members of congress in the constitutional line of succession that have political disagreements with you?

“OK then, what’s your strategy, FRiend? Anything better than GWB strategy? A DUmbo retreat Strategy?”

I’m making all kinds of friends on this thread.

If we mean to fight a war, then we should fight a war. To pretend that all terrorists that mean the US ill reside solely in Iraq, is not fighting a war.

Given Syria’s nuclear facilities that were dispatched by Israel, wouldn’t we want to invade them? I would.

Given Iran’s nuclear intentions, wouldn’t we want to invade them, too? Probably so.

Given Saudi Arabia’s position funding and supporting terrorism, should they be dealt with one way or another? Yeah, probably so.

If we are truly fighting a war on terror, then we must fight it. If we are not, then we shouldn’t waste our troops and treasure on people, Iraqi’s, that are simply not worth what they are costing us.

You think otherwise?

“We debated the war before we went, we will have all the time in the world to debate it when it is over. During war, resolve is more important then the battle. “

Absolutely. However, like your previous self-assignment of “decider” of who is or is not a traitor - like Mr. “Josie” Joe McCarthy, you cannot exclude the taxpayer in the equation. If you don’t get their continued support, the war is effectively over, like it or not.

Iraq can and should be debated openly amongst Americans. It’s prosecution or non-prosecution is a reasonable subject of discussion.

“And I am sure that I am using a lot more humor then a terrorist does.”

Some humor is inappropriate. Like yelling “Fire!...just kidding” in a movie theatre, or joking about a bomb in your luggage in an airport.

You simply cannot imply that you would like to hunt down congressmen that have political disagreements with you. Even if you think it’s funny. You shouldn’t do it, because it is wrong, and because it will get you into trouble.

You know what? If I were you, I’d ask.....I’d BEG the moderators to delete this thread.

You really don’t come out looking very funny, or very smart.

You may well have made implied threats on members of congress - enough to invite scrutiny from humorless redlegs.

That’s my advice to you, Josie.

What is interesting is that my dad worked in Jeddah, Kuwait, Lebanon and Bahrain when I was in high school and college and I actually met a guy from Jeddah who I dated. (We visited and almost moved there). He and his friends came over for FLIGHT SCHOOL in San Diego. I lost touch with him but did snag several nice gifts from him. But, this was a million years ago. Oy.

Read #8, up thread. I spelled it out already.

As to Saudi Arabia, IMO, when the results I pointed out in #8 are achieved they will have to crackdown on any financing or support to terrorists or they’ll be the last supporters of terrorism in front of the whole world. Not being able to deflect accusations “it’s not us, it’s the Iranians” will do the trick.

The reason I’m saying that, the Saudi Royal family knows that bin Laden wants them dead and so, they won’t be blackmailed to help him when he’s all alone.

Seeing what happens to Iran, if it happens, will show the Saudis that we’re not joking. They also know that cutting the oil will invite an invasion supported by Europe and Japan. It’s West’s lifeline and it will be a matter of survival.

If you are locked in a dark and empty room, and for your entire life you are told there is one story, and that it is both bad form and illegal to consider any other versions of the facts, does that automatically make you stupid, or a victim of brain washing?

Personally, I would have been stupid to take the screaming left at it's word, but I was taught through circumstances to think for myself, and, as a survivor, to reject the entire concept of being a victim.

But then, I rejected the entire business plan that victimization and the comfort of stupidity offered, straight off.

Slapping people in the face used to be en vogue, and should be brought back as a pillar of civic involvement - a good slap, well timed and with purpose, could be as inspiring as a brisk walk or a martini.

“Military victory” is capture or neutralization of the enemies command and control. The Coalition defeated the Iraqi Army with ease in 2003 by this definition. Failures began with not securing the military assets of the vanquished army. The insurgency in Iraq also has command and control. You may like to speculate where it is located. The current failure is the open boarder points between Iraq and Iran as well as Iraq and Syria. The insurgency can be neutralized by cutting off supplies from Iran and Syria. It is only a matter of time after that goal that the insurgents consume the military assets the coalition failed to secure. How to stop supplies from Iran and Syria? Declaring a “forbidden zone” approximately five miles thick along each boarder and destroying anything that moves in that zone — anything from a truck load of fruit to munitions. This will leave a job of policing the new Iraqi Army and preventing diverting of their supplies to the insurgents. The last step is to arrest and prosecute those advocating violence as a tool of politics. Victory!
