China hijacks Google, Yahoo, MSN, Youtube...

Such good sports, the Chinese are:

US Internet search engines in China were being hijacked and directed to Chinese-owned Baidu, analysts said Wednesday, speculating that this may be retaliation for the White House award to exiled Tibetan leader the Dalai Lama.

Analysts at Search Engine Roundtable, a website focusing on Internet search, said Chinese users trying to search on Google, Yahoo and Microsoft websites were being directed to the Chinese search engine.

"It seems like China is fed up with the US, so as a way to fight back, they redirected virtually all search traffic from Google, Yahoo and Microsoft to Baidu, the Chinese based search engine," the analysts wrote.

Kind of reminds me of Turkey throwing a conniption fit over the genocide bill. Especially coming after these words;

The United States has "gravely undermined" relations with China by giving the Dalai Lama an award, the Chinese government said Thursday.

So, when things are relatively good with the Chinese, they simply hack our military. But when we shed light on their abuses, they hijack our businesses in China. I'm starting to warm to Duncan Hunter's idea of reciprocal trade practices.

A falling dollar goes hand in hand with second rate nations sticking it in your face. Russia, China, the list is growing.

Actually, the falling dollar is not all bad. But bending over and grabbing our ankles for China is ALWAYS bad.

Ewwww I'm scared! Big bad China took away my search engine.

Petty.

Sounds like a good time to send them a trojan or two so they can play with it.

Uh, Baidu is listed on Nasdaq, and thus is subject to hefty fines for such activities.

China will get its own so bad, it will be remembered for 1000 years. They’ll wish they’d never ever heard of a “stock market”. You have the largest population on earth, in essentially a ponzi scheme like Albania years back.

It would be funny, but many people will most likely die from this.

Wasn’t directed at you. I suppose we’re stuck with the Chicoms as trading partners unless something really big happens.

It’s not acceptable but a petty, childish maneuver to do a redirect of US search engine sites over the Dali Lama visit.

A Hillary administration will try to play similar games with the internet. Where will freerepublic be re-directed to? The MSM has already anointed her socialist dictator for life. Her only threat is the internet.

This is why dealing with the Red Chinese is always, ultimately a stupid move.

It’s impossible to do business with any safety when one side of the deal feels free to change the rules anytime the game is not going in their favor.

The Chicoms refuse to acknowledge any power higher than themselves. The rule to law to them means “we are the law, so we make the rules.”

They are not our friends.

So all that scrubbing that Google agreed to with China (expunging Tienanmen Square from searches originating in China, for example) hasn’t resulted in eternal gratitude from the Chicoms? How surprising!

What are the Chinese going to think when their searches get redirected? How are they going to feel about it? I hope they keep it up. Let them remind their subjects what censorship they are under. I don’t regret the lost ad revenue to Google, etc. either. Let them be reminded whom they are dealing with.

If we can figure out a way to get them to take NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN I’ll be forever grateful! I’ll even throw in the NYT.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. I suspect most Americans would sh!t themselves if they woke up from their reality-TV-induced stupidity long enough to see the way the ChiCom scum crap on our intellectual property, as well as the human rights of the Tibetans and every other subject unfortunate enough to live under their hideous rule. They’re as evil as the Nazis, but far smarter and more pragmatic. But god forbid we can’t lose 2 cents on some cheap piece of chi-com made sh!t at Wally World to do what’s right and protect our sovereignty from these evil godless commie bastards.
