ANKARA, Turkey (AP) - Parliament on Wednesday overwhelmingly approved a possible cross- border offensive against Kurdish rebels in northern Iraq, although the government appears willing to give diplomatic pressure on the U.S.- backed Iraqi administration more time to work.
Lawmakers voted 507-19 in favor of empowering the government to order the military to cross into Iraq over a one-year period. Turkish leaders have stressed that an offensive against the rebels of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, would not immediately follow the expected authorization.

If the Turks only go against the Commie Kurds that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. I think most Kurds wouldn't lose any sleep if the PKK was out of the picture.

This is the Second Pelosi-Nascent War

This will cause shipments of supplies to our troops in Iraq to cease. Not good at all!

When the Dems considered a vote on the Armenian genocide situation they pissed off the Turks, essentially poking a knife at our troops. Is this the Dems back door attempt at causing so much chaos in Iraq that we will have no choice but to leave the Kurds and Iraqis to be slaughtered?

IF Turkey goes only after the PKK! However as in the past they have shown they are ultimately interested in destroying or at least subdueing the KRG aswell. That's unacceptable for US interests. The big bold Turkish move to destroy Kurdish ambitions is only kept at bay by our presence and engagement in Iraq. If we pull out (and the Dems are constantly letting the world know that THIS is what they intend) The Turks would running over Northern Iraq within a blip (of course the Kurds won't go down without a real good fight).

This is the Second Pelosi-Nascent War

She's a special sort of Typhoid Nancy.

She says she is promoting understanding as she meets with people, but in reality she is spreading hatred.

Great going, Nancy P. What a maroon... starting a war and adding $7/bbl to the price of oil. Good job, Madam Speaker.

How much assistance will we be giving the Kurds? After all, aren’t we staying in Iraq at the moment expressly to help them minimize attacks against their citizens?

....and we are allowing this.

This is the same thing as what we let Saddam do to the Kurds after Gulf War I.

Despicable.

And so typical. “we are your friends until our more powerful friends threaten us”

...the motto of current foreign policy.

Where is the moral valor of WW2 politics.

Gone with our grandfathers.

Not good but what other options does Turkey have? I hope it’s more symbolic for leverage than the start of something aggressive.
