Remember that stink manufactured a week or so ago about Rush Limbaugh?
Forty-one Democrat senators signed a letter to Limbaugh's boss demanding he be officially scolded over the "phony soldier" flap.
The letter is evidently worth a lot of money and the money is going to the children of Marines and law enforcement who have died in the line of duty.
So the eBay online auction site has now bumped the letter's value up to $45,000.

I’m surprised that it’s only at $45,000. Surely some philanthropist is willing to shell out a million—to help this worthy cause.

I was thinking that the lib billionaires probably don’t have any interest in this because Rush is behind it, but if Rush is matching the high bid, you’d think they’d be willing to drop one of their billions just to bankrupt him.

There should be a lot of action at the end of the week as the auction expires on Friday.
Rush needs to present the check to the Marine Corps in person on the Whitehouse lawn with President Bush standing with him. 41 vacant chairs with all the names of the senators who signed the letter would also be fitting.
The real bidding hasn’t started yet. Wait until Wednesday night. I have a feeling that it will go for over half-a-million and then Limbaugh will match the bid with a gift of his own.
And the frustration and gnashing of teeth by the RATS — priceless!

Oh man, now THAT’s a photo-op. Also get the high bidder in there too.
There is a software program you can use called “bid-napper” (I think). In it you post your highest acceptable price and just before the auction ends it slips in your bid, which doesn’t allow someone who is just watching time to respond. As long as someone else hasn’t outbid you already, you win. Of course, it also keeps you from knowing if someone has outbid you.

EBay requires two bidders to take a bid up that high... maybe Soros and Peter Lewis could collaborate, but I suspect Rush would be only too happy to match whatever the final bid is. And bidders have to be pre-screened — I don’t that Soros or Lewis would qualify.
Regardless, this is a great patriotic move by Rush. He’s just too smart for those jack-ass Demos.
