Rudy Giuliani Declares "Roe vs. Wade" Anniversary Day in NY (Jan. 22, 1998)

Oh yes, it's true. Not only did he praise Margaret Sanger as a hero and declare "Planned Parenthood Day" in New York City, but:

Dec. 30, 1997: Giuliani says he supports abortion rights in general.

July 22, 1998: Giuliani says he supports the Roe v. Wade decision.

Sept. 14, 1998 and April 5, 2001: Giuliani criticizes the GOP’s abortion stance.

"He had the aura of a pro choice mayor in New York and he milked that for all it was worth," Berg said. "He certainly made that part of his persona as mayor."

Mary Alice Carr, vice president for Communications at NARAL Pro-Choice New York, still has a proclamation signed by Giuliani that made Jan. 22, 1998 "Roe v. Wade Anniversary Day" in the city. She also provided a copy of a NARAL questionnaire from 1997, signed by Giuliani.

Would he support unrestricted Medicaid funding for abortions? Would he oppose legislation that made minors get parental or court approval before getting an abortion? Did he agree with the Roe v. Wade decision?

Giuliani circled Yes, Yes and Yes.

What makes you so sure that the American people won’t like HRC once they elect her? They like Oprah, Britney, etc. Why wouldn’t they also revere HRC? She’ll likely be the “people’s choice”.

I believe that Barry and Peggy Goldwater were big Sanger supporters too, weren’t they?

He believes that conservatives will hold their collective noses to stop a Hillary Clinton presidency.

He stinks that much?

Here we stand at the crossroads, GOP. Will you throw away your soul, or return to that which made you great and made you the guardian of all things good in America?

A candidate’s stand on abortion is, to real conservatives, what an “indicator species” is to wacko environmentalists—a telling measure of a man’s soul. If you can’t defend the weakest among us, you are no man, and you certainly are no statesman. Any Republican who votes for Rudy is a traitor the republic.

The election is his to lose.

The primary, maybe. He sure started out with a great lead.

But the election? Not at all. His supporters like to assert that he is the only one who could beat Hillary, but the only time they went head-to-head she sent him running away with his tail between his legs.
