I received an unsolicited e-mail this week from a neighbor of the Frost family, the family held up by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and the entitlement expansionist Democrats. He wrote:
Theyre good people. Terribly misguided, pathetically leftist buffoons, but still good people. It was a terrible accident and Bonnie is quite beat up with guilt over the events. Lots of neighbors pitched in to cook meals and help out Bonnie works half time doing freelance editorial work and Halsey, an incredibly disorganized lovable goofball, just cant seem to hold down a proper job or, when hes tried, to run a proper company. Hes a millwork carpenter and does great work installing custom interior and exterior trimwork and cabinetry. He should be making great money but cant get out of his way
Still, we make choices, right? They have three vehicles - a nice new volvo SUV, a Suburban, and his F250 Ford Pickup work truck, a nice house, and all four kids go to private school. Not sure where the money comes from, but they dont make all that much. Should they be the poster child for S-CHIP? Heck no

What about the disabled, really disabled? The people that truly cannot take care of themselves and have no family to provide for them. Down syndrome adults, blind people, etc.
I don’t think we should provide for healthy adults, but there is a segment of our population that cannot take care of themselves because of disabilities and I don’t think they should be left alone to fend for themselves.
I agree to a certain extent, but too many of the charities don’t have the money to take care of severely disabled people.
I just don’t want those people to fall through the cracks.
They’re too cowardly to walk up to you and steal the money out of your wallet - they just empower the government, the only entity that can legally use deadly force or the threat thereof, to steal money from you.
The potential for abuse in ALL government-run programs is evidenced by the amount of Cadillacs lined up in front of welfare offices in EVERY major urban area of this Country.
Sad, but the purchase of votes from the entitlements' crowd is rift with fraud and abuse, all at Taxapayer expense to assure a dependent-class that votes for the Socialists every election. They want their benefits to just keep on comin'.
Very, Right or Left, few people would disagree in extreme cases. (Ok maybe the Left would disagree if the person was conservative.) The issue mainly applies to the general case. If a person is capable of work, but just doesn't make enough to be able to afford cable.
The main problem with charity is that it's unreliable, inconsistent and unequal. Often, the person who gets the most charity is the person who is most effecting in 'selling' his own supposed afflictions. Instead of setting up a black and white either-or situation, we should work at solving the problem with as little recourse to government as possible. The 'problem' in general being people who need help, but don't get it for whatever reason. If we can do that, this will undermine the rationale for more government programs.
...just curious as to why so many freepers are against goobermint health plans.
Doesn’t the ruling class (POTUS, Senators, Congressmen and other leaches) have their health care paid for by US taxpayers?
I never hear anyone else speak up about the goobermint bennies that “our leaders) have.
“What about the disabled, really disabled?” That is what Medicaid and other programs were supposed to be for.
Ever notice those that whine the loudest about FEMA, the IRS, and DoD are the ones that are screaming for nationalized healthcare run by those that produced FEMA, the IRS, and DoD?
Did you know that hospitals used to be non-profit? They were started by Christians. There used to be systems to meet these needs that were not government based.
This needs to be repeated loudly across America. The mentality of at least 50% of this country is that they are owed something. It ridiculous that a family with 3 vehicles and a nice house to boot, didn’t have insurance. I hope this comes back to bite the dems.
You still have to report it as income.
IRS please pick up the blue courtesy phone...I agree, someone needs to sic the IRS on this scam...just like the Clintons always got the IRS to pester their opponents!
Neither is it charity.
If the government got it’s hands out of our wallets, people would have more money to donate VOLUNTARILY to charities.
