Rudy Giuliani fostered an important ecumenical moment last week, albeit one that he may not have welcomed, as Protestant and Catholic leaders alike questioned whether his presidential aspirations were invalidated by his pro-abortion beliefs. Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis announced that Giuliani should not present himself for Communion in Burkes see, thereby also signaling to Catholic voters that they should reconsider their support of him.
James Dobson, president of the influential evangelical group, Focus on the Family, reported that 50 pro-family leaders agreed almost unanimously [that]
if neither of the two major political parties nominates an individual who pledges himself or herself to the sanctity of human life, we will join others in voting for a minor-party candidate. Since these leaders already know Hilarys position life begins if the mother says it begins what they really decided was to abandon the Republican Party, if Rudy wins the nomination.

Whats the saying there are none so blind as those who refuse to seeRudy to a tee.
“If Rudy gets the nomination,”
Explain any scenario where Rudy gets more than 30% of the Republican delegates.
Thanks for the ping. There are a lot of Rudy vs. Prolife threads open right now. We seem to have a reinfestation of tootyfruityrudybot RINOs.
You should spend some time going through the bugzapper thread, where some freepers lost their posting privileges when they posted stuff like that, tearing down good conservatives.
Will FR embrace socialism to make way for Rudy Giuliani as a Republican presidential candidate?

That will be the spin offered by GOP insiders leaning toward Rudy.
But they should be paying attention to the coming demographic crash and offering arguments for larger, stable traditional families as the basis for a healthy society and economy. It's not just the sexual issue of convenience. That is very important.
Ask yourself the question: what country aborts its sons during time of war and survives??? Maybe Alan Keyes should bring that up in the next debate. Or one of the other conservative pro-life candidates. Giuliani is wrong on this issue and someone needs to make that clear to his face.
RDS (Rudy Derangement Syndrome)--
An affliction in which normally conservative voters are willing to trash long-held, core, bedrock values and principles to support a liberal who represents a more authoritarian, bullying, more intrusive, more controlling, all-powerful, big government knows what is best, 'Big Brother' type of government,,,,,
headed by a pro-abortion, pro-amnesty, pro-litigation, gun-grabbing, gay-rights crusading, condescending, arrogant, and narcissistic, LIBERAL pit bull, New York lawyer who strongly believes in sanctuary cities, encouraging illegal aliens by telling them they are NOT really illegal, global warming and using our tax money for Federally-funded abortions,,,,
who worked in the Bobby Kennedy campaign, voted for George McGovern, who as mayor publicly distanced himself from Ronald Reagan, and who vocally supported and proudly endorsed a liberal, big-government, socialist democrat like Mario Cuomo over the Republican candidate for governor (largely because the Republican wanted to cut taxes too much), and has been a defender of Bill Clinton on more than one occasion,,,,
who ran for mayor the first time on the LIBERAL PARTY ticket, ,,
and who was SO LIBERAL that he wasnt even invited to the Republican Convention in 96--after refusing to endorse (until the last minute) the Republican candidate opposing Clinton,,,,
and a cousin-marrying, Clinton-apologist--whose personal life is an absolute TRAIN WRECK (almost making Bill Clinton look like a decent family man and loving husband--if that is even possible) is JUST THE MAN FOR THE JOB.
Rudy Derangement Syndrome (RDS) certainly DOES exist,,,and it most certainly IS a serious and dangerous affliction!!!
Geeee,,,why are we NOT surprised that he supports a liberal like Rudy????
No wonder he will go "ALL OUT" for Rudy!!...lol
NO! Never!
Well said. I totally agree.

ALPO might be more appropriate, since ALPA endorsed John Kerry!!!!...lol
I agree completely.
Thanks for the excellent post.
Post 66 nails it!
The Rudy Scenario Comes Into Focus”
From the article:
“Next up would probably be South Carolinaalthough Michigan may end up voting before it. Mr. Giuliani has already been running strongly in South Carolina polls, and his chief threat here figures to come from the southern candidates, Mr. Huckabee and Mr. Thompson. But if Mr. Thompson is wounded in Iowa and finishes as an also-ran in New Hampshire, he may not be much of a threat in South Carolina. And Mr. Huckabee, even if he scores a surprise win in Iowa, will probably not be able to follow it up in New Hampshire: His campaign is so financially-strapped that hed have to choose between New Hampshire and South Carolina. With momentum on his side, South Carolina would be a winnable state for Mr. Giulianiand under the right circumstances, he could also use it to eliminate his two southern foes.”
The article assumes the conservative candidates split the conservative vote up to super Tuesday, which Giuliani wins due to superior financing. The article assumes morally conservative voters will jump on the Rudy band wagon if he wins a couple of states.
I find all of this highly dubious. Even if the conservative votes split, Rudy still is getting only 30% of the vote—in the states where he’s favored! That’s not enough to win the nomination. I expect McCain and Huckabee to drop out before super Tuesday and the conservative vote to coalesce around one or both of Romney and Thompson. That makes it a 30-30-30 split on super Tuesday or more likely, a 30-30-40 split, with one of the more conservative candidates, Romney or Thompson, getting the forty.
It’s not credible that anti abortion voters will ever vote for Rudy. Since that is over half of the Republican primary voters, I can’t see him winning. This is not factoring in Rudy’s anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-immigration stances either, nor the possibility of Huckabee and/or McCain throwing their support to Romney or Thompson.
The article even concedes Iowa to Romney and Thompson. I doubt Rudy will win NH or SC. I expect either Romney or Thompson to be leading in delegates going into super Tuesday.
Answer, a resounding NO!
In you not so humble opinion anyway. If we elect anti-gun pro abortion statist El Duce from NY we will be making a HUGE MISTAKE also. The time to drive the stake through the hearts of the liberals in the Rupublican party is NOW.
"My positions are mostly the same as Mrs Clinton's", Rootie Julie Annie before dropping out with health issues of the Kongressional race against Clinton .
Yes, ALPA not only routinely supports democrats, I can't remember a single Republican they have ever supported. They will support Hillary, without question. I'm in the union because my employer requires it. My use of it here has always been a way of poking the union in the eye.
If you read my post you will see that I didn't say I would support Rudy in the Primary, only the General Election isf he is the nominee. I'm not sure there is a good conservative with a chance to win the primary. If I were king, I'd put up someone like Thomas Sowell, Clarence Thomas, Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, or anyone from the Claremont Institute; but I ain't king.
But as a peon out in internet land, I'm not going to take my helmit to the sidelies and quit because the coach put in a quarterback I didn't like. The game's too important, and losing is much, much, worse than winning; even if it has to be Rudy.
I fly with guys spouting the union/democrat crap all the time, and I'll do anything to keep there ilk out of the White House even if it makes the Freepers angry.
Not true. Rudy has successfully gotten his teams in state where he has big leads to change the primary rules to favor him, going from proportionate awarding of delegates to winner-take-all. His supporters are working hard in backroom moves and deals to rig the system so that he will win. He already changed the rules in four key Rudy911 states.
Many of us will go Third Party, PERIOD, if Rudy911 gets the nod. There is no possible way that we will change our minds under and circumstance.
It is a fact that needs to be calculated into the Rudophile formula for winning. Are you really sure that Rudy will singlehandedly, based on the sheer strength of his personality and name, entirely redraw the Electoral Map as we know it - even with the dissent of many like myself from the GNP (Grand New Party).
