Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.
Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."
In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."
"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.
"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."
Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."
Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

People should not discuss “theology” in a flippant fashion as Anne did. I used to defend her, but no more. I also understand that she rarely attends religious services. Somebody should remind her that the Torah has so many rules, because man is loathe to obey G-d and needs guidance. There should be a Commandment: “Thou shalt not go on a show that nobody watches and fall into a trap.”
Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah. Christians, by and large, love and worship the Messiah as the Savior.
By the way, did anyone remember to inform the mediawhores that Jesus was born a Jew, lived a Jew, worshipped and taught as a Jew and died as a Jew?
In a way, I consider myself a Jew. Not by birth or by conversion, but by the fact that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is Jewish.
One bumper sticker I see in this area, very often, in fact, is: "My Boss is a Jewish Carpenter".
Unfortunately Anne, who has turned into a shock jock, did not bother to mention this to fellow shock jock, Donny Deutsch, and has chosen to be obnoxious. I used to like her, but no more - and I am Jewish and attend services. Religion is a serious matter.
I will agree that Anne needs to explain herself more clearly when she comments on a wide variety of issues. While she may think that an intelligent mind can comprehend her statements, that is clearly not the case. On the other hand, maybe Anne should read more on the Essenes and become more familiar with her religious history.
I believe following rabbi Yeshua to be the true Judaism. I believe that the rejection of the messiah and the substitution of the temple sacrifices with rabbinic laws to be the equivalent of a golden calf.
Well said. Have you read this (and not just the excerpts, but the entire article)?
Of the three main Jewish sects at the time of Jesus--the Sadducees, the Pharisees, and the Essenes--the Essene philosophy has prevailed. Hang on to that Gospel plow and you will be a good Jew, a good Christian, a good person. If you miss a church service one week because you are writing a column that will change the way people think, good for you. Nota bene: Ann speaks in megachurches. Not exactly a sign of a lapsed believer.
I know you don’t juliej. I have a deep love and regard for the Jewish people regardless of their beliefs. Love, Maryxxx
Amen, Bray.
So sorry you’re wrong, but I guess you and I will find out soon enough which is right. Hope we’re both on the same side then. Love, Mxxx
You are wrong. Period.
She speaks where???? She is flippant about a serious subject. I am sticking to that one. And she may have hurt any chance of more Jews registering as Republicans. Whether she likes it or not, she is trotted out as a Republican “spokesperson”. Taht is why this is getting such big play. NOBODY watches that stupid Donny Deutsch show but now he is getting a ton of publicity.
Ann created a “dividing” issue at a very difficult time - and she did it on a show that hardly anybody watches. Now Deutsch is getting a ton of publicity and the lefty Mediamatters has picked up on this. First O’Reilly, then Sean, and now Ann - and Ann should have known better.
So, when Jesus comes back and sets foot on the Mount of Olives , the Israeli immigration officials won't let him in?........but, seriously, the ancient 1st century Christians were having the same arguments, only in reverse. One group wanted the Gentile newbies to be converted to Judaism via circumcision first, then they were considered Christians. Paul effectively put that argument to rest. The whole Christian-Jewish argument is just as silly as the Middle Ages philosophical arguments over how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. It's an irrelevant and irresponsible waste of time talking about. A Jewish Christian is just as much Jewish as the Apostles were. Paul still considered himself Jewish, went to the synagogues and obeyed all the Law and practices of his ancestors. No one can point to any scripture that says if you become Christian you stop being a Jew. A Gentile is still a Gentile when he or she becomes a Christian. The essence of being a Jew or being a Christian is exactly the same. You are a Jew or a Christian in the heart, mind and spirit. There will be a lot of disappointed "Christians" at the Second Coming.........
Let's discuss around St. Patrick's Day.
Amen Brother, I pray daily that Jesus Christ, our Lord, continue to Bless us all! even the Jews...
Ann was moved to her profession of faith by the dunces who insist on damning her and her very effective crusade of Truth!!! You go Ann!
From the article.
Red your logic is flawed...the New Testament is way more than Paul’s letters...Jesus is the way the truth and the light...Paul never claimed that...however, when Paul’s eye’s were opened on the way to Damascus...he learned the Truth about Jesus, the Son of God...that was that we are all saved by Grace that believe in him...why would any Christian, who in fact does enter Heaven, question anything that our Lord has decided is welcome in his Kingdom...in fact for all Christians, we should pray that all accept his Word and enter the Kingdom of God!
I would not take her word on that one!
