People should not discuss “theology” in a flippant fashion as Anne did. I used to defend her, but no more. I also understand that she rarely attends religious services. Somebody should remind her that the Torah has so many rules, because man is loathe to obey G-d and needs guidance. There should be a Commandment: “Thou shalt not go on a show that nobody watches and fall into a trap.”

Ann was not being flippant, really. What she said is what she believes. All the Law and the Prophets are embodied in Jesus' Two Commandments, as he said: To love God with your whole being, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Of the three main Jewish sects at the time of Jesus--the Sadducees, the Pharisees, and the Essenes--the Essene philosophy has prevailed. Hang on to that Gospel plow and you will be a good Jew, a good Christian, a good person. If you miss a church service one week because you are writing a column that will change the way people think, good for you. Nota bene: Ann speaks in megachurches. Not exactly a sign of a lapsed believer.
