Ann Coulter Shocks Cable TV Show, Declaring 'Jews Need to Be Perfected by Becoming Christians'
FOX ^ | 10/11/07 | Unknown

Slash-and-burn columnist Ann Coulter shocked a cable TV talk-show audience Monday when she declared that Jews need to be "perfected" by becoming Christians, and that America would be better off if everyone were Christian.

Coulter made the remarkable statements during an often heated appearance to promote her new book on advertising guru Danny Deutsch's CNBC show "The Big Idea."

In response to a question from Deutsch asking Coulter if "it would be better if we were all Christian," the controversial columnist responded: "Yes."

"We should all be Christian?" Deutsch repeated.

"Yes," Coulter responded, asking Deutsch, who is Jewish, if he would like to "come to church with me."

Deutsch, pressing Coulter further, asked, "We should just throw Judaism away and we should all be Christians?" She responded: "Yeah."

Coulter deflected Deutsch's assertion that her comments were anti-Semitic, matter-of-factly telling the show's obviously upset host, "That is what Christians consider themselves: perfected Jews."

But then, since she has advocated invading the entire Moslem world and forcing them to convert, why should her opinions on Jews be any different?

But they are. She never said Jews should be forced to convert. This is the first time in years she's said something I can agree with.

Becoming a Christian, for a Jew, does not mean jettisoning their Jewish tradition.

No. But for a Jew to become Christian, they must ackowledge Christ as the Messiah and that He is risen again.

Take time to read my profile page Newbie

I've been here since 2003, you just signed up this past May, how long you may have lurked offline quite frankly doesn't matter.

I'm sure your late Dad would understand the use of the term 'Newbie', since it appears that you don't.

My condolences on his passing, and once more:

Welcome to FR.

“...if we were all true Christians, the world WOULD be a much better place.”

My only concern would be who gets to decide out of the umpteen dozen denominations which one is the TRUE Christian Church?

I don't agree with her its necessary for any one to convert to Christianity - or Islam to believe in God. All one has to do is believe in God and follow His teachings. The real problem isn't that Jews haven't converted. The real problem is the decline of faith in God in the West.

Sorry - but the Bible makes it clear that "belief" in God is not sufficient:

James 2:19 - You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

When this verse says "You do well," Paul was using sarcasm to get his point across. He's speaking to a "foolish man" and he says that the man's belief in God puts him on par with the demons.

Let’s see..she makes outlandish statements, she’s constantly in “overdrive” and is extremely thin. Are you familiar some of the symptoms of meth addiction?

Most of us probably aren't familiar with those symptoms. Have you studied the subject, or are you speaking from personal experience, i.e., you've known someone addicted to meth?

Cool. Found a good place to bump this thread, and some day I look forward to spending a lot of time with you in discussing these things. For now, though, we’re stranded in time.

Yes I will bet 1 cent, that is what Ann Coulter stupid rhetoric is worth in my opinion.

Ann Coulter is the Michael Moore of the right in terms of the foolishness of rhetoric. She riles up some on our side by throwing them stupid rhetoric and they get all type mental orgasms because of it but at the end she is doing it for attention and money, but worst of all she hurts our side everytime she opens her mouth.

DEUTSCH: You said – your exact words were, "Jews need to be perfected." Those are the words out of your mouth. What? Nowhere does his transcript quote her using those "exact words" "out of [her] mouth."...His transcript is wrong or, more likely, he's lying.

Per the transcript he accused her of saying "Jews need to be perfected." when in fact she said we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say, in the context of the country being a better place if it were all Christian.

Same meaning, and imo irrelevant as to the quality of the nation or the Republican Party.

She’s right. If it upsets you, take it up with Jesus Christ. He said it first.

The claim that Jews can be saved only by accepting Jesus is a Christian doctrine. As a Jew, I obviously don't accept it, but there's nothing wrong with a Christian saying that.

What is wrong, and outrageous, is her claim that America would be better off if all Jews became Christians. That is not a religious belief, it is a secular claim, and one which is not only demonstarbly wrong, but is a slap in the face to all Jewish war veterans and to all the other jews who have done so much for America.
