Per the transcript he accused her of saying "Jews need to be perfected." when in fact she said we just want Jews to be perfected, as they say, in the context of the country being a better place if it were all Christian.
Same meaning, and imo irrelevant as to the quality of the nation or the Republican Party.
As to the difference between the two version, I’d say “we want them to be perfected” is a hope that something be done by them, while “they need to be perfected” sounds more like something to be done to them, rather than by them.
But that’s some fine mincing for spoken words. I’m not going to defend the overall tone of her comments because I’ve never cared for the overall tone of her comments.
She is like a juvenile trash-talking sports fan, transplanted into the political world.
I’ll take Ingraham or Levin any day of the week.
