New York U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton is one of the most loathsome modern American politicians, given her barely disguised support for massive government programs, her grating schoolmarm personality and her aggressive political behavior, yet I'm left hoping that she obliterates any of the front-running Republican candidates and has long-enough coattails to expand Democratic control of the Senate and House of Representatives.
Unless Republican candidate Ron Paul - the only supporter of liberty in the bunch of GOP ne'er do wells - somehow propels his impressive Internet campaign into an improbable electoral victory, there is nothing else, but a Clinton victory, that will save the Republican Party and help rebuild the nation's long-suffering freedom movement.
How can an enemy of freedom help freedom?
Well, when you've got a headache, you take an aspirin. When you've got the flu, you take something a little stronger. When you've got cancer, you need chemotherapy, which kills cancer cells but can come perilously close to killing the patient. It's a sad truth, but the Republican Party has the political equivalent of cancer.

A Guiliani victory--indeed, a victory by any of the top GOP candidates--would cement the party's totalitarian tendencies. Even the party's social conservative wing, its most powerful grass-roots force, is ready to bolt if Giuliani gets the nomination.
Religious Right notables such as Focus on the Family's James Dobson and former presidential candidate Gary Bauer met recently in Salt Lake City to discuss backing a third-party candidate. These folks are no friends of liberty, either. Still, their defection could assure that increasingly likely Clinton victory.

My eyes....my eyes....
Amazing, isn’t it? I was reading this post by doug from upland where these libs were talking about Hillary Clinton. Doug was very level headed in his comments.
I can’t believe that some of those people voting for Hillary are doing so simply because she is a woman. That’s almost cruel.
Sorry.
The good news is that it's 100% preventable.
Principles are for suckers. What matters is winning.
Rooty is a very avowed social liberal, his history tells us so.
Social liberals abound in the Democrat Party. They are NOT fiscally responsible because they are unable to be.
If so called conservatives are willing to go for this, have at it. When their taxes rise to pay for socially liberal democrats to have the luxury of their fellow man to pay for their liberal irresponsibility . I do not want to hear any griping or protests that they just didn’t know.
Yes Virginia, there is no Santa Claus. Principles are for suckers.
LOL, keeping track this time since they will deny it (like they do the 06 “lesson”), when Hill and Bill are putting them on a waiting list for an EKG.
I never said anything about sacrificing principles, and I’ll thank you not to imply things that I don’t state. It’s just that in politics you get the chance to implement an agenda based on your principles by winning. You don’t if you are a loser. If you’re going to be serious about politics, it is better to be a principled winner than a principled loser.
Yep, and that's why Pubbies are in this mess, and they may have selfishly screwed up beyond repair.
Rootie promises constructionist judges, a trick to get us to quietly wait for 8 years while he screws us like Bush did.
Nah, I don't trust him.
On the domestic front, a Dem. Presidency would mean that we'd lose any gains we'd made on the Supreme Court, because a Dem President would appoint at least the next 3 Justices. If a Dem is elected, those older Justices, who have delayed retiring because they didn't want George W. Bush to appoint their replacements, would gladly move on if they knew someone who shared their political philosophy was in charge of replacing them.
I don't think you understand, I agree with you.
I didn't imply you said principles don't matter. That's what I said.
What you said that I completely agree with is, that winning is all that matters.
Lets say there are two candidates for the GOP against Hillary. Candidate A is right on 95% of the issues. He is smart, honorable and wise. But for some reason we know he can't win. Now Candidate B is right on 25% of the issues. He is not exactly honorable but he hasn't screwed up too bad in the past. And he has a chance to beat Hillary.
Candidate B is the man we have to vote for.
Principles are a luxury we can't afford. There are 3 Supreme Court seats in the balance.
And sure it would be great if we can win and still have our principles but only if we win first.
*snort* I LIKE that one!
I have a friend who has said something similar. He’s not wanting her as president, but says if she were it would be a wake up call to change the way things have been going in this country.
I apologize for misunderstanding your post. We are in agreement.
Exactly. We lost Congress in 2006. Look how far conservative principles are now advancing in Congress.
Golly, cal, don’t the Rooty Tooters look cute in their Night of the Living Dead Halloween costumes?
Wonder how many conservatives they’ve feasted on lately?
Thats pretty simple thing to understand. Win by winning.
