Wouldn't it be nice to have as a choice for President in 2008 a seasoned military man who says what he believes?
Don't you just have to love the candor and honesty of Gen. Peter Pace, the retiring chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff?
I can tell you he shook up Washington last week when he repeated his view that homosexual acts are immoral, are "counter to God's law" and should not be condoned in the U.S. military.

In the current environment, a military person would be extremely polarizing in the primaries.
A military person would need to have successfully won a major war. For example, General Norman Schwartzcof might have been a successful presidential contender in the elections following Gulf War I (1992 or 1996) because of his quick and decisive victory in ending the Iraqi invasion/occupation of Kuwait.

Last I heard he was seriously being considered for Senator from Virginia to replace John Warner the rhinoceros.
“I don’t know where he stands on the other major issues of the day...”
Gee, ya might think that’s important before you start a “Draft” movement?
Sheesh.
But what the hell, run him anyway. Anyone who's against homosexuals has what it takes to run the country. </sarcasm>
That's another 'draft the general' movement. To the best of my knowledge, General Pace hasn't shown any interest in running for office.
Good idea
In previous posts I’ve kind of joked that Tommy and Condoleeza would make a good Blue Plate special.
Would be proud to wear a ‘Franks ‘n Rice’ campaign button.
Of course Beans ‘n Franks would sound better. Anybody know of a General Bean ???
“General Pace hasn’t shown any interest in running for office.”
Don’t think you’ll see that either. I think he’d rather continue to “serve” the Marines by supporting their various foundations.
....Franks n Rice ...
Har.... good one
This is just silly.
The difference is that the American people would never support General Pace. They want HRC for many reasons. Some may just want to see the tabloid Clinton “sex” show resume for the next four years. I think the poll said only 5 percent of the Americna people claimed to have morals lower than their beloved B.C.
General Pace v. Wesley Clark? How well or unfair would that be for a Marine versus a “phony” soldier Clark?
Joseph Farah is a joke and his website is the equivalent of Weekly World News.
Peter ‘n Franks???
Yes, electing William Henry Harrison, Zachary Taylor and Ulysses S. Grant as President worked out so well.
I’m thinking Joseph Farah went to public school...
