Give Rush Time on Senate Floor
Me | Oct. 2, 2007 | RetSignman

Posted on 10/02/2007 12:31:22 PM PDT by RetSignman

I think someone in the Republican Party should invite Rush to speak on the Senate floor to reply to the outrageous lies perpetrated by members of the democratic party.

The lying statements of Reid and others are now on public record and Rush deserves to have HIS rebuttal on record.

I, for one, am going to write to as many Senate Republicans as possible to petition them to invite Rush to appear.

I invite other FReepers to do the same, maybe we can get at least one of them to grow a spine and do what's right.

But i doubt he would take them up on it.

7. Oh, silly Freepers
Rush would never go to the senate. Yes, the republican side would gladly stoke his ego like they do to everyone else they like, but democrats would actually ask him not-so-friendly questions, which he wouldn’t be able to handle. There’s a reason that his radio show doesn’t normally have guests on - he can’t handle dissent.

Since he’s a Florida resident, there won’t be a seat up for election until 2010, and that one belongs to Mel Martinez. Not much difference there.

Rush should simply hold his own press conference outside the senate chambers. He needs to go there and challenge that weak kneed liar Harry Reid and the rest of the Dem traitors Kerry, Harkin ,Pelosi,Durbin,Levin, and Bob Kerry to appear alongside him. You know they would never show. They all know Rush would nuke them with the facts.

Well since the objective is likely to distract from the assault on General Patreus, some strategic response may be merited.

I believe negative effects are allowed as long as they don’t include declaring guilt or punishment for guilt.

I copied and pasted the definition I found by clicking on the word "attainder" in the constitutiion on line.

There is a glossery with the words defined as was intended by the original constitution.

Rush would be great on the floor of the Senate, but it will never happen because the DNC controls Congress. Hillary is behind Media Matters, Move On.Org and many other blogs, as Rush played the tape this morning with her voice stating just that. Most of America gets up daily, goes to work and really doesn’t get into this part of politics. Most out there vote without knowing what they are voting for except whoever puts out the entitlements. This plays exactly into the DNC playbook...cradle to the grave.Forget personal liberty, responsibility or small government, and I might add, the Constitution, The Bill of Rights or the Declaration ofIndependence! Nurse Rachet Clinton is covering this country like a socialistic blanket, pushed by her bull dozer erstwhile husband. Nothing and I mean nothing spells her out to be anything but a very loud mouthed LIBERAL out to grab the power and world wide prominance of the United States.

Other sources suggest a more limited definition that “negative effects.

>>’’Bills of attainder . . . are such special acts of the legislature, as inflict capital punishments upon persons supposed to be guilty of high offences, such as treason and felony, without any conviction in the ordinary course of judicial proceedings. If an act inflicts a milder degree of punishment than death, it is called a bill of pains and penalties. . . . In such cases, the legislature assumes judicial magistracy, pronouncing upon the guilt of the party without any of the common forms and guards of trial, and satisfying itself with proofs, when such proofs are within its reach, whether they are conformable to the rules of evidence, or not. In short, in all such cases, the legislature exercises the highest power of sovereignty, and what may be properly deemed an irresponsible despotic discretion, being governed solely by what it deems political necessity or expediency, and too often under the influence of unreasonable fears, or unfounded suspicions.’’ 1701 The phrase ‘’bill of attainder,’’ as used in this clause and in clause 1 of Sec. 10, applies to bills of pains and penalties as well as to the traditional bills of attainder. 1702 <<

Rush mentioned the name “Tom Daschle” today.

That’s what’s going to happen to Reid.

YES...Where are our GOP Senators?

I just called Sam Brownback's and Pat Roberts offices and told them to grow some cahonies and stand up for Rush Limbaugh!

Demand that Harry Reid Resign after his attack on the Senate floor on a private US citizen. (If Trent Lott could be forced out for padding the ego of an old man, why not Reid after this unwarranted and relentless attack).

REVOLT AGAINST THE DEMOCRAT ATTACK MACHINE.

and Mitt, Fred, Rudy, and John better stand up against this political crucifixion of El Rushbo

Senate Rules:

http://rules.senate.gov/senaterules/rule23.php

It's too bad really, a private citizen can be falsely slandered by US Senators and he doesn't officially have the right to go on the floor and challenge them. People on both sides of the isle should take note of what this means.
