Recent post from Cathy Buckle here. Is she part of the problem or just crazy?

I'm beginning to wonder if she really exists.

I end with a story about a man who is epileptic and visited the local government hospital for his regular check-up this week. It took four hours before he was seen by a nurse who scribbled in his book that this was a known case and that the hospital pharmacy should dispense his prescription of 90 phenobarb tablets at no charge - as they usually do. This major provincial government hospital had no phenobarb however so the man went to the biggest and busiest pharmacy in the town. They said the phenobarb would cost 1.2 million dollars - this is ten times more than the man's government stipulated minimum monthly wage. I offered to help and took the prescription to another pharmacy. The exact same tablets cost 250 thousand dollars - nearly five times cheaper. When I gave them to the man, his eyes shone with tears and he thanked me - 'I thought I would have to die' he said. What a way to live, and to die. Until next week, thanks for reading, love cathy.

Sounds like the template for Hillarycare.

White people in Zim are a people without a country. Their ties to Europe are only in skin color. They have no place to go. At some point they will likely give up.

Imagining dispatches from Chez Buckle a couple of years from now...

“Now that we are reduced to cannibalism, complaints in the market about shortages have eased, but the incessant cries of the Gedthef*ouddadodge bird are ringing in my ears...

Holy $hit Cathy. That he die is what is intended by Mugabe and the subtly racist, utilitarian, and Malthusian Global Influencers. The latter won't do anything for Zimbabweans but publicly shed crocodile tears. And I know that many of them surreptitiously send Mugabe laurel leafs for doing his dirty job.

In a traditionally moral world, would it not be far more troubling that there is no loud counter-Malthusian, prolife forces on the globe than any single report Cathy doggedly stays to witness and report on? Dammit.

Some here wonder if Cathy Buckle really exists.I,for one, have no idea. Many have wondered out loud why the heck she didn't get out of Zimbabwe years ago.One obvious reason is that maybe she has nowhere to go.Maybe she doesn't qualify for British citizenship as,I suspect, many who lived at one time in Zim did.

The same thing happened in Hong Kong and Macau before the handovers in the 90's.There was a mad dash by native Chinese people living there to get a British passport (Hong Kong) or a Portuguese passport (Macau). Those who succeeded either left when they got their passport or stayed knowing that if things got bad they had a safe haven waiting (Europe).

If the Zims were still under greedy, despotic, undemocratic colonial rule I imagine they'd all be living comparatively high off the goat after all these years since "independence".

At the minimum, they'd be eating.

Just think, the commie Biship Tutu received a Nobel Peace Prize for freeing his people from colonial rule. He should receive another one for freeing his people from the nasty habits of eating and working.

I believe that there IS a Cathy Buckle, whether that's her real name of not. Most events in history, whether they be positive, tragic or catastrophic have those who keep histories, chronicles or diaries. It's in their genes and they bow to the master which is their muse.

This Cathy writes well and descriptively. The innate urge of writers is for folks to read their output.....sometimes they go to great lengths or through great danger to get their stories out to be read.

I see no personal gain for this woman to be writing about what she sees and experiences. I'll give her the benefit of any doubt about her intentions.

One doesn't have to be a liberal to be human or humanitarian. Perhaps her ideologies have changed after viewing the horrors she's viewing every day.

My heart goes out to these poor people at the mercy of uneducated, vicious, greedy, home-grown communists and fascists that are in total control of this disintergrating country and its hapless folks.

I'll bet freepers are among the comparatively few who know about the conditions now after reading this. Such education is vital for us and for other Americans, especially those who think "nothing bad can happen here".
