DURHAM, N.C. Duke University President Richard Brodhead apologized Saturday for not better supporting the men's lacrosse players falsely accused in last year's highly publicized rape scandal. "Given the complexities of this case, getting the communication right would never have been easy," Brodhead said. "But the fact is that we did not get it right, causing the families to feel abandoned when they were most in need of support. This was a mistake. I take responsibility for it and I apologize for it."

Amen, again!
If I remember reading on this. This was part of the settlement the guys accused insisted upon when they settled with Duke University. I believe the settlement was some where north of 50 Million.
Anyone know the details????????????
bttt
Resignation is the only course, after he accepts the resignation of each and every of the Duke 88.
Every one. No exceptions.
In other news... I apologize for the massacre at Wounded Knee.
mitigation in the face of a suit.
Where was the appology MONTHS ago?
Where was the appology when Nifong was found in contempt?
The delay speaks VOLUMES.
Please accept my apology
But that dont right
The wrong thats been done.
I know I was wrong
For treating you the way I did.
I have so much on my mind
I didnt know where you fit in
and if I could do it all over again
Ill never treat you that way
I apologize for the pain that I caused
And I just wanna say
Im sorry! so sorry
That I was such a fool
Sorry. So sorry
for leaving you the way I did.
And I know every time
every time I treated you unkind
you still gave your best to me
Ill do anything to get you back in to my life.
Thats when I realized
just how much you mean to me.
A second chance is all that I need
to change whats wrong and make it right.
Im sorry! so sorry
for treating you the way I did.
You gotta believe me when I say
Ill never, never, never hurt you again
Anyone know what, if anything, has been done to the lying slut that started all of this crap?
Failure to reach out????
They were already tried and found guilty, by his faculty, in public, in writing, before the trial.
That's a "failure to reach out"??????
You are a sad, sad person. Go bug someone else.
If there’s one thing Brodhead is, it’s sorry.....
Liberals have no shame therefore he or it wont resign. The families need to sue the living hell out of this person and if for no other reason to make other libs think twice before they prematurly throw students under the bus.Complete pieces of scat imo.
Can't handle the truth? You are the sad one, being rude and then jumping others when they are rude back to you. Really sad.
Wow! That's harsh.Who do you think this guy is, Trent Lott?
There is a fundamental difficulty. Namely, that the preponderance of objective (</sarcasm>) journalists are villains in the piece. If there is a journalist in a movie, he is always an honest, idealistic crusader. Always. Anything less, and the movie would get mercilessly panned by the reviewers, or - worse yet - ignored. And doomed to failure. Therefore your script has absolutely nothing to recommend itself to us.

I'm sorry, so sorry
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
[Spoken:]
(I'm sorry) I'm sorry
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was to blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes
I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accept my apology
But love was blind
And I was too blind to see
(Sorry)
The central truth, only in the last paragraph. Everything before it was weaseling. If there is anything Broadhead should wish is that this case would be forgotten. And if there is any one lesson from the case it is that you cannot trust journalism for courage; what you can count on is that journalists will look for a sensational story of evil perpetrated by those whom the public depends on - provided that the perpetrator is not a journalist or someone else who assumes that journalism is the definition of the public interest.
