The principal said he's upset at the number of people who have sided with the father. "We all work so hard to give our kids a safe place to go to," he said. "Any time we have an act of violence, it's very upsetting because it is completely antithetical to what we're trying to accomplish." Probably that principal was just like that schoolboy back in his teenage years! Btttttt
But he probably never got caught!!!!

Same old divide we always see when the topic of youthful sex comes up on this forum—the “social conservatives” (a minority, even here) vs. the “everybody’s doing it” crowd. The thread is not really about the propriety of the dad’s actions; it’s about the propriety of the teenage boy’s actions. The truth is that most FReepers would have no problem if an upperclassman took their teenage daughter out of school for a little sex-ed lab (with a possible side trip to Planned Parenthood a few weeks later).

Sure. ...But why aren't you upset about the events that occured previously while you were en loco parentis? They were firmly in your custody and under your supervision at the time. It is rather excessive to charge YOU with statutory rape, but you had a part to play in the events by your negligence...and your one-sided outrage suggests condoning.

The 17-year-old boy from Henniker, who admitted to having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend, will "absolutely" be charged, police said. Weare Detective Lou Chatel said the boy will be charged as an adult and could face up to a year in jail. If every underage high school boy was jailed for having sex with his underage high school girlfriend 3/4 of the entire U.S. population of high school boys would be incarcerated. ....at mimimum.

What a lovely, Christian society we’ve become. Police state/Sharia States of America, more like it.

The principal said he's upset at the number of people who have sided with the father. The father brought some badly needed "old school" to his daughter's school. People are just reacting as decent Americans, who mourn the pathetically weak society we have become.

There may be more to this story. It is quite possible the father knew of the relationship and had talked with Romeo and Juliet before and they refused to listen. That might be the reason he blew up. We also don’t know if he punished his daughter or not.

After taking a beating like that from Dear Ol' Dad, methinks the boy has been punished enough.
The criminal justice system should just stay out of it, unless they are prepared to charge and arrest about 90% of the 17 year olds (male and female) in the school.

I’ve referred this thread to the recruiters at the Internet Tough Guys of America (ITGA). They should exceed their recruiting goals tonight.

The principal said he's upset at the number of people who have sided with the father. Then the principle is a horses a$$!!

Hmmmm.
The 15 year old girl skips a class to have sex with her boyfriend, and the father attacks the boy?
Perhaps he should have had a conversation with his daughter?
Like before she decided she wanted to have sex?
Just a thought.

I’m confused why the kid is to be charged with sexual assault?
I’m not condoning his and the girl’s bad errors at all, but I don’t see how this is legally possible?

I do understand the girl's dad being upset. But to do this to any one, there is no cause for him to take matters into his own hands. He is not the JUDGE, JURY, AND THE ONE TO DISH OUT JUSTICE. We still have laws and a certain way to handle these things. However to charge this young man with a sex crime and as an adult, I would have to find the boy not guilty. This may chance if they were to charge the girl with the same set of charges. Both of these kid are not at the age of consent and therefore both need to face the same charges. I for one am sick and tired seeing the Male's in these case being the only one to face charges. If the boy is guilty then so is the girl. The boy did not hold a gun / knife, or anything else to the girl's body. When they both agree to have sex, then there both guilty of the same sex charges.
