Dems Hot Over Rush's 'Phony Troops' Comment Talk Show Host Draws Fire
POSTED: 7:54 am EDT September 28, 2007 UPDATED: 8:22 am EDT September 28, 2007 The war of words over the conflict in Iraq took a new turn Thursday as Democrats in Congress excoriated radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh for calling some soldiers "phony troops."
Limbaugh had argued with a caller on Wednesday about when U.S. troops ought to be brought home. The caller, who identified himself as "Mike" from Chicago and said he was an a Iraq veteran and a Republican, pushed Limbaugh on whether the occupation in Iraq would last forever.
Limbaugh and his next caller, who also said he was in the military, both referred to soldiers who criticize the war and urge that troops be brought home as "phony troops."
The exchange came a week after the Senate passed a resolution condemning the anti-war group MoveOn for an ad in the New York Times that asked whether Gen. David Petraeus, in testimony before Congress, would be "General Betray-us." The House passed a similar resolution this week.
Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Pa., an Iraq veteran critical of the war, scolded Limbaugh in a Thursday column on the HuffingtonPost.com Web site.
"When someone like Rush Limbaugh says that soldiers who disagree with the failed strategies of President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are 'phony soldiers,' you have to consider the source," he wrote.
"Rush Limbaugh, who, in January, called Vietnam veteran Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., 'Senator Betrayus' for disagreeing with President Bush, has made no secret of his disdain for those who serve and speak out. Where was Rush Limbaugh when it came time to serve his country?"

(yawn) Typical Dems.
for of all those who served their country do it in different ways. Hagel has hurt the troops more than helped them. Benedict Arnold served didnt he?
Well if that trick hadn’t been used dozens of times in the past by the loony left, they might have a point. Using phony troops to advance their anti-war agenda is all too common.
Real troops, phony patriots.
so did Murtha and Kerry.

Damn, Mr. Murphey -
Rush was specifically referring to someone who
WASHED OUT OF BOOTCAMP
and claimed to be a Corporal and an Army Ranger.
Then he gave false testimony that supported the Democrat position.
What the hell else would he be called but a PHONEY?

Jesse Adam Macbeth, 23, pleaded guilty to charges he faked his war record.
"He was in the Army for 40 days before he was kicked out of boot camp for being unfit," said U.S. Attorney Jeffrey C. Sullivan. "He was never in Iraq."
It’s the same old story from the Dems. Who you are matters more than what you say. A veteran is granted Absolute Moral Authority as long as he is criticizing the President. But the 95% of the troops who back the President are ignored.
And, more to the point, the Left has used phony troops. The Winter Soldier fiasco that launched John F. Kerry to national prominence was full of fake soldiers making it up as they went along. In this war, Jesse MacBeth (sp?) was the darling of the Anti-War Left until it was revealed that he was a total fraud.
Wow, talk about a drive by media hit against the Maja Rushie.
Rush was referring to s specific boot camp washout who was pretending to be a colonel while spewing slanderous claims against our troops.
I'm sure he was up all last night worried about this
.

Since he wasn’t in the military, nor were 90% of the US population,
he and they should have no opinion on the deployment and use of the military in America’s interest.
That’s the leftist tactic used to silence dissenting opinion.
Meanwhile they prop up lying bootcamp washouts that support their position.
Rush has been serving his country for over 18 years, liberating many skulls full of mush from the bondage of PC, liberalism, Democrats, the welfare state, military-hating elites and all around socialists.
How long did you serve before you became a Hate America proponent?
You’re proof that there’s at least one no-class act in every crowd.
