RENO, Nev — Federal agents raided 11 McDonald's restaurants in northern Nevada and made dozens of arrests Thursday as part of an investigation into illegal immigration.
Agents for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement made at least 56 arrests in Reno, Sparks and Fernley after raids at the restaurants and a franchise corporate headquarters in Reno, agency spokesman Richard Rocha said.
"They are people suspected of being in the country illegally. As far as I know, they were all McDonald's employees," he told The Associated Press.
The investigation began five months ago and was sparked by an identity theft complaint, Rocha said. A local law enforcement agency then gave ICE information that illegal immigrants were working at specific McDonald's restaurants, he said.
Luther Mack, who owns at least some of the restaurants that were raided, insisted that his businesses require employees to provide documentation.
"As an employer, I do not knowingly hire or employ undocumented or unauthorized workers," Mack said in a statement.

The raids drew immediate criticism from Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and activists, who estimated the number of arrests to be closer to 100.

"We don't approve of the Gestapo methods ICE is using," said Gilbert Cortez, a Latino leader who urged Hispanic workers to stay home from work in protest Friday.
Cashell, a Republican and former lieutenant governor, said that if identity theft was involved, that was wrong, and that he opposed a protest that would keep workers at home on Friday.
He said he would contact Nevada's congressional delegation and ask the city council to look into the raids. He said that he opposes illegal immigration, as well as immunity for illegal immigrants, but that "there has to be a better way to do this."

If all the McDs involved were owned by the same person then invoke RICO, sue the hell out of them and throw them in jail.

I stopped patronizing the local Jack in the Box when the bilingual drive-thru clerk was doing double-duty for Espanol-only inside counter help (Harbor & Wilson, Costa Mesa, CA).

I can honesty say, I have not eaten from any of their establishments for at least 5 years.
They go after the McDonalds in Nevada yet ignore the staffs of all those casinos and hotels? Someone forgot to pay someone.
Here in Tennessee I stopped patronizing Cracker Barrel after poking my head in their kitchen to find everyone there speaking Spanish...and that’s in Cracker Barrel’s #1 rep store at their HQ restaurant in Lebanon, TN! If they use illegals for the money they’re pulling they sure don’t need patriots’ business.
I guess McDonald's decided not to pass along the saving from hiring their illegal alien low wage labor, to the consumers.

Next McDonald's will tell us without their peasant, illegal alien low wage labor, they'll have to raise the price of one of their cheap burgers to $7.
I am really glad I decided years ago, to stay away from these types of places.
No wonder teenagers won't work there. Who would send their 17 year old daughter to work with a bunch of non-English speaking 40 year old illegal aliens?

I try, most people respond with BS they think I’m fishing for and Cracker Barrel’s parking lot is always full. These people seem to look over how the business they helped build into a success will no longer employ their non-college kids for the sake of scraping a few more cents utilizing illegals.
I compare that to crapping where one eats...so I don’t eat there. And I’m just a recent transplant from Nashville. Don’t know how the locals justify their attitude to themselves. Don’t think they much like having these truths thrown into their faces, either. Heh heh, ride me out on a rail.
They are not citizens of the United States and therefore are not guaranteed U.S. citizens rights.
Round em up and send them packing to whatever third world cesspool they came from.
