Does school let out around 3:00 p.m. like American schools do? This sounds like an attempt to hurt many kids as they left for the day. Nail bombs are designed to cause lots of casualties.

Well, it does explain why my granny used to say “Irish men can charm the birds out of the trees and the virtue out of the women.”

My grandparents were married in West Derby. My dad was born premature just 7 months after the wedding.

Yeah, that's my story and I'm stickin' with it!...............

More info:

“A device has exploded inside a teacher’s car near a school in Liverpool.
Merseyside police said no-one was injured when it went off at Runnymede St Edward’s, a Catholic primary school in the West Derby area.
Sky News correspondent Mike McCarthy said it was a substantial explosion.

He said Superintendent Ian Pilling, who called crime “despicable”, had told him a teacher’s silver car was “considerably damaged”.

Mr Pilling said the car was only 30ft away from the school building when the device exploded at 2.50pm.

“An explosive device had been placed inside the car,” he said.

“At this stage we can’t say exactly what device it was but it was detonated inside the vehicle.

“This was a despicable offence. Children were in the process of leaving, nobody was killed or injured but that was down to good luck.”

The primary, and a nearby senior school, was evacuated immediately after the bomb went off in an area for staff parking.

Damon Younis, 38, who lives next to the school, said: “There was a bomb, it was a nail bomb.”

Well, I hope that helps you too.

Sharing family moments on a possible terrorism thread is always therapeutic.

"My grandparents were married in West Derby. My dad was born premature just 7 months after the wedding."

And you believed that story?

My parents used to say that when we kids got smart enough to do the math and discover our oldest brother was born "prematurely" 7 months after their sudden wedding.

Funny, the rest us were never born "premature" though.

"“An explosive device had been placed inside the car,” he said."

Perhaps the "teacher" had the bomb stashed in his car and the heat of the day set it off.

Nail bombs aren't used inside cars, they are used outside in crowded places to inflict max damage. Ball bearing bombs are used inside cars to kill the occupants.

This teacher perhaps never had a chance to place the bomb, and was waiting till school was out to finish the job.

I wouldn't rule out the teacher as a suspect just yet. Search his house for bomb making materials.

Yeah, you’ve got to treat the owner of the car as a suspect, but so too could a car detailer/washer or car repairman have access to the trunk or some inner panel in which to hide a bomb.

Used cars in Florida are constantly having drugs found inside such areas by new owners...sometimes months after the car has been purchased. Lots of empty spaces hidden inside panels in most cars.

You’re welcome. UK Republican states the bomb detonated at 2:50p.m. Schools dismiss there from around 3 - 3:40p.m.

I don’t know if you intended it our not, but I had a bit of a chuckle over your post.

Btw, does your revelation have anything to do with the article? I didn’t read it all and was curious if I had missed something.

The bomb went off in West Derby. My grandparents were married in West Derby. The events were 99 years apart. I was a big Don Adams fan. Coincidence? I think not.
