WHY DEMOCRATS JUST ABSOLUTELY HATE BEING CALLED .....
I've always being one who likes to get under the skin of the collective left, and glorioski, have I found a way to rattle Democrats. You just refer to their wonderful party as the Democrat Party! Lordy, does this put a burr in their thongs.
Well .. now I think I've found out why! A buddy of mine at CNN (who, for obvious reasons, shall remain unnamed) provided me with some interesting information. Joseph J. Ellis wrote a book called "Founding Brothers, The Revolutionary Generation." I ordered my copy this morning. One of the Amazon.com reviews for this book says "This book is really unique in that it gives a really interesting perspective not only on the men [our founding fathers] , but the dynamic between them." Now in that book by this renowned historian you will find some tasty information on the origination of the word "democrat." Many times I've told you that our founding fathers were none too fond of the idea of democracy, or, as they viewed it, mob rule. Here's the quote:
"... the term "democrat" originated as an epithet and referred to 'one who panders to the crude and mindless whims of the masses.'" Don't you love it? Could anything better define today's Democrat Party? Get with the program folks. It's the Democrat, not the "Democratic" Party.

Tagline change ...
Deserves enshrinement somewhere prominent.
Pandercrats.
Early example - "Give us Barabbas".
Drat and double drat! You beat me to it.
:<) You can have the next good tagline ...
I doubt that’s the reason Democrats dislike the term, for the simple reason that it is likely few of them are aware of its meaning at the time of the Founding.
I think they’re just mad cause Bush calls them the “Democrat Party” instead of the “Democratic Party”
This explains everything. One Democrat became angry with me for using the word “Democrats”. He said he hated when people used that word because it sounded derogatory. That made no sense to me at all. Now I understand why.
I know Democrats that go (more) insane when Bush does that.
W called them “the Democrat Party” today in his press conference. Gotta love it.
Bump!
This one’s already taken.
They want to go back to their “roots” but shouldn’t their name be the Democratic-Republicans then?
Yup...they’ve turned “mob rule” into “the will of the people,” with help from the MSM.
The “people”...who they can manipulate and control through the media, pollsters, educational system and government bureaucracies.
I’ve noticed they do get a bit testy when Democrat Party is used, and I’ve been doing so ever since.
The fact of the matter is not only is that description accurate, its become obvious liberals in general are rank cowards...so afraid they’ve even come up with a ‘new description’ perferring the term ‘progressive’ these days.
Bunch of wimps, every single one of them. and as such unfit for the Presidency in times like these.
Then there is the odd ‘sub group’ that tries to hide behind the title of ‘Libertarian’.
You can easily out them, by asking what their position is on the 2nd amendment. Its like using a duck call, they pop right out of the ‘libertarian brush’ every single time.
