Who Is Really Behind the Anti-War Movement?

On Saturday, September 15, there was an anti-war rally in Washington, D.C. in La Fayette Park directly across from the White House.  CSPAN ran it in its entirety on Sunday, and as I was watching, I began to wonder, “Who are these people”?  I did some research and the results are alarming.

There is a common Marxist-Leninist thread that ties many of these groups together along with a number of pro-Palestinian/anti-Israeli speakers early on whose names I didn’t catch. 

Here is some of what I found, with links to info on the organizations, the speakers and the organizations’ websites. 

The rally was organized by ANSWER.

·        Anti-war front group for the Marxist-Leninist Workers World Party

·        A major organizer of the massive anti-Iraq war rallies of 2002 and 2003

·        Opposes embargo against Communist Cuba

·        Supports convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal

Brian Becker Co-Director was a featured speaker. Watch his speech           

·        Co-director of the International Action Center

·        Member of International A.N.S.W.E.R.'s steering committee

·        Member of the Secretariat of the Workers World Party

Co-sponsor of the rally was Muslim American Society (MAS).  This group espouses that the US is responsible for provoking the attacks of 9/11.

Mahdi Bray – Featured Speaker - Here’s a clip of Bray enthusiastically showing his support for Hammas and Hezbollah.

·        Executive Director of the Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation

·        Advisory board member for numerous Muslim organizations

·        Has worked in concert with International ANSWER

·        Declared that he and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist fundraiser Sami al-Arian are “kindred spirits” on the issue of Muslim political activism

Code Pink

During the last week of December 2004, Medea Benjamin (Code Pink Founder), announced that Code Pink, Global Exchange, and Families for Peace would be donating a combined $600,000 in medical supplies and cash to the families of the terrorist insurgents who were fighting American troops in Fallujah, Iraq.  (Emphasis added)  Watch Benjamin’s comments

·        Voter-education organization that endorses only anti-war political candidates

            She left the stage to the crowd chanting “Impeach Bush. Impeach Bush”.

 

            I can see why she believes she’s a shoe-in for Speaker of the House.

 

This is not an anti-war movement; it is an anti-American, an anti-capitalist, impeach-Bush movement. 

We need to get this information to as many Americans as possible to do whatever we can to thwart their efforts. 

We cannot let these people mis-lead the American people while hiding their true agendas. 

We cannot afford to let them lose this war as they did forty years ago.  The stakes are too high. 

We are engaged in a struggle not only for the American way of life but for the survival of Western civilization. 

Please do your part by passing this on to your sphere of influence.

As bad as Fascists are, they’re pikers compared to Communists.

I've used nearly this exact phrase myself.

BTW, I've noticed that liberals get irritated when you compare Fascism and Communism. They tend to want to come to Communism's defense. It's evidence of an interesting asymmetry in the way conservatives relate to Fascism and liberals relate to Communism. Conservatives utterly reject Fascism from first principles, but to liberals Communism is just a little too much of a good thing.

I agree with your comments. I would perhaps rephrase the communist end of it though. Leftists think the only reason communism didn’t succeed was because it was corrupted the only times it was tried.

They still think that under the right circumstances, communism would beat the pants off capitalism.

Russia, the leaders were flawed. China, the leaders were flawed. Cuba, the leader may have been flawed, but the U.S. ultimately caused it’s failure.

The mass market media would have you believe that fascism equates to conservatism. Not true at all.

'Nazi' is actually short for the national SOCIALIST workers party. Both fascists and communists are on the same side of the political spectrum.

Add it all up and the democrats these days are straight up fascists in the original sense.

I had not seen this before. Very interesting read.

As you may be able to guess from the Cyrillic writing accompanying it, it was a Soviet Swastika -- used by the Red Army during and after World War I. It was worn as a shoulder patch by some Soviet troops. The Swastika too was a socialist symbol long before Hitler became influential. Prewar socialists (including some American socialists) used it on the grounds that it has two arms representing two entwined letters "S" (for "Socialist"). So even Hitler's symbolism was Leftist.

Very telling that Hitler lifted a lot of Friedrich Engels ideas...just like Clinton lifted Hitler's gun control platform almost word for word.

Ron Paul may be against the war, but he does not deserve to be put in with this bunch. I am not a Paul supporter, but have read his comments on the Constitution for over a decade. He is not a Marxist, nor a Muslim apologist, but an Isolationist.

Yeah, they love him. But only because they can point to him and say he agrees with them on this one issue. If they could comprehend why he takes that stance, they would rapidly lose enthusiasm.

His basis is a document and philosophy which is juxtaposed to the whole liberal/socialist agenda.

In this instance, much as subduing the Barbary Pirates, I agree something needs/needed to be done, and in this case I disagree with Ron Paul. However, we are in for a protracted conflict, especially if the American people do not realize the stakes here, and who the enemy really is.
