Thanks for your responses. Looking forward to seeing Duncan’s debate performance.
Sorry I’m so slow, too many things going on right now. My brother just called to tell me his ex-father-in-law just died. His kids are taking it pretty hard. He sounded so down and tired.
Yep, and we just got to make sure everyone else knows these guys’ records.
I read that Huckabee said that Congress should not have stepped in to save Terri, but it was OK for Florida govt. to try to save her. I am trying to search for the story, but so far haven’t found it.
To: 8mmMauser, Do you have the story about Huckabee saying that Congress should not have stepped in to save Terri? I thought I read it on one of the Terri threads, and it was from a FL newspaper?
Sorry to hear that: your brothers family will definately be in my prayers.
Did somebody say big'uns?
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Lol, I can understand that - she did seem a little hyper. she was probably still coming down from all the excitement and stress of having put the debate together. She is the person who came up with the original idea of holding the debate and recruited the other organizations to make it happen.
Then someone should put together a list of all the questions the values voters asked the attending candidates and give them to Rudy McThomney to answer. If it's just a matter of not showing up because none of the other four did, we should have answers quickly from all the non attendants. If it is a matter of not respecting values voters and trying to pretend to be conservatives when they are not, there will be some excuse as to why they should not answer. Don't hold your breath waiting for a response from them.
He did press yes or no whichever way it was phrased, to not allowing taxpayer supported public schools to teach/support homosexuality.
Standing on principle as usual.
So far, I found this from a blog, but couldn’t find the newspaper article. According to this, he actually said he wasn’t sure.
Huckabee: “On governmental intervention in the Terri Schiavo case: I had no problem with the state getting involved because its one of their citizens. but I wasnt sure how the federal government had a role in all that.’

- Representative Hunter was very active, early to jump in and make some comments, good energy tonight. Got to meet him and he seemed quite upbeat. He was clearly the best talking about national defense and anti-terrorism, sounding very confident on it.
- Paul had a small but VERY loud/enthusiastic following. Very young too of the "alternative" crowd I guess you'd say. Paul was quick to meet right in front of stage as soon as it ended. He didn't play his anti-war card much, but talked about not "pushing our values on everyone" across the world and stop being so "woodrow wilson" of a country. Folks next to me liked hearing that.
- Cox stood out with good energy, but used a lot of cliches/buzzwords instead of some real depth. Played the "executive as CEO" angle, anti-Washington card. Claims he's the one to beat Hillary because he's not a career politician.
- Keyes was his awesome public speaking self as usual. He got a misconceived question about the UN, but quickly explained his great credentials on the matter, being the one who originally lobbied for the "Mexico City Policy." re: foreign abortion funding. He got the final 4 minutes and reminded everyone that Our Creator is the source of all freedom and not acknowledging him is a big mistake. The 45 min drive was worth it just to hear him speak live. Wow.
- An Iranian Christian immigrant had an interesting question for them about Shiite influence in Iraq and would they support more regional areas dedicated to Iraqi Christians. Paul was a NO on that question I recall.
- Brownback, Huckabee we're ok. Huckabee sought to invoke Reagan and talked about the optimism of America. Brownback nuanced his opposition to amnesty with his support for guest worker program.
- Judge Roy Moore got a THUNDEROUS applause when he was introduced, basically a standing O as well.
----- I was suprised how many young adults were there (20's - 30s). It was a very diverse crowd, and the most vocal outbursts were for Paul, and also Hunter when speaking about "we need to WIN the war in Iraq" and other a joke about about forcing the Taliban watch some of our liberal networks or something.
That is why I love Ron Paul despite his misguided view on the WOT. We need 410 more Congressman like him. We can leave the other 24 seats for Socialists, Communists and neo cons in the House just for entertainment value. It's also the reason that I send my children to private Catholic school...so they won't have to be indoctrinated into the Hitler Youth public school liberal system.

"Introducing first, to my right, fighting out of the red corner, wearing their Sunday best with a gold crucifix...weighing in at 810 and 1/4 pounds...the social conservatives, the religious right, the champions of family values...from the Southern States...The Evangelicals!" (wild applause)
"And in the blue corner, wearing an off the rack suit, Goldwater 64 lapel pin and a belt 2 sizes too small...weighing in at 141 pounds soaking wet...the fiscal conservatives, the last champions of limited government...from the Western States...The Libertarians!" (wild applause)
Chapter 1: Live From the Reagan Building
Given the mess your ilk has made of California and the disaster you've made of the CAGOP, best you refrain before you make that arrogant mistake irreversible at the Federal level.
They really blew it with their fear mongering over Y2K. They made a lot of money selling survival gear for it too.
I heard that Rudy Giuliani was not only in Ft. Lauderdale tonight, but he was actually on the same street as the event, but still didn’t show up.
A lot of people felt we should be prepared in case something happened with Y2K.
It's always good to be prepared for disaster. It was treating disastrous consequences to Y2K as a virtual certainty that really sunk WND. A little circumspection would have gone a long way. They still haven't learned.
