He’ll get off again. He’ll claim racial discrimination, there’ll be a few riots in LA, and the handpicked jury will acquit. Again.

He needs to be granted bail so he can go and look for the real burglar. Nah...he's had 13 years for that...and Johnnie isn't around to save his ass this time.

Didn’t most of those jurors say later on ‘oh yeah we knew he was guilty but the prosecution just didn’t make it’s case?’
To: RFEngineer
His only hope is to become black again and hope that the jury goes for racial solidarity - thereby ignoring his obvious guilt. I wonder if, since this is a small time robbery, even tho' it's "OJ" - he isn't going to get the attention and support he got last time around. He's a has been - I don't know as there'll be that many big time lawyers ready to jump on the case, as he doesn't have the millions anymore...
and to do it pro-bono, for the publicity factor, may not be worth it. It will be a costly trial -

IMHO OJ will walk on this charge. The alleged "victim" is already saying "it is not a police matter", etc.

Can somebody explain to me why FNC has to have a "news alert" about the story that they were in the middle of reporting on?
Yet another reason to cancel the cable.

I’ll make a Captain Obvious point here. An allegation has been made that armed individuals entered a Hotel Casino and robbed someone in a room. The Hotel/Casinos and the Las Vegas Gaming commission are pissed! Millions of dollars in advertising are spent to entice visitors to spend billions of dollars which produce taxes, jobs, and profits, and events which threaten these things are fought vigorously. The heat coming down from this has to be immense! O.J. may have gotten away with this at some other city, but not in Nevada - and NOT in Las Vegas!

I’ll ask why the alleged victim called the police in the first place or did s/he ?

You just had to smile listening to Fuhrmans explanation. Plus, he said that Las Vegas PD wont roll over on this and the DAs wont either. There's a lot of money in Vegas, lots of high rollers who want to feel safe. Vegas will want to ensure that nobody gets the impression that somebody can get away with armed robbery
Plus Vegas is only 10% black, and Nevada is a big gun-owning state. Talk about black riots won't intimidate anybody

O.J. is cookrd, they will nail him on this, IMHO. Post 234 really paints the picture for him, this kinda stuff doesn’t go on in Las Vegas without bad paying the Piper.

Marcia and her boyfriend chose the right solution. Of course that jury has a reputation that will forever make them the benchmark for the DUH brigade. But I'll always feel like Marcia Clark did a lousy job with that case.
First, it was the National Enquirer that found those Bruno Magli shoes on OJ in a picture they'd found in the files. OJ, if you recall, said he would never wear those "ugly-assed" shoes. Couldn't Marcia have looked through the old football clips and found him wearing those shoes instead of, say, a damn newspaper? Not that she wasn't the prosecutor or anything.
Also, a woman sold her story to the tabloids but she COULD have testified in court too, silly me. This woman's story was that she had stopped at an intersection and OJ jumped out of his car and carried on because she was blocking him from his escape from the scene of the crime. The time she said it happened and OJ's physical state of frenzy all suited the time of the crime. But Marcia wouldn't take any witnesses who had sold their story to tabloids.
Why? There is no law at all preventing witnesses from selling their story to the tabloids although I understand that prosecutors try to discourage this. But to totally make up some new prosecutorial rule that tabloid witnesses will not be allowed....stupid, stupid, stupid.
Marcia Clark will go down in ignomy for some of her dumbass decisions.
