Jim McGreevey yesterday accused his soon-to-be-ex wife of "greedily" grabbing at the perks of being New Jersey's First Lady - and refusing to give them back.
In legal papers packed with snide and catty comments, the openly gay McGreevey told estranged wife Dina Matos McGreevey she can expect to get nothing from him.
Matos McGreevey had asked him to pony up $4,000 a month in alimony to help her live a lavish lifestyle like his.
"Her jealousy and contempt are almost out of control," he said.
"She greedily took the perquisites that my job offered her. ... Not only does she view [the governor's mansion] Drumthwackett as an entitlement, but she believes that she must be kept in that kind of lifestyle."
McGreevey resigned as governor in 2004 after announcing he was gay.
McGreevey's legal team said New Jersey law requires alimony payments only if the marriage lasted more than 10 years - and the McGreevey's is only three years old.
"As such, she is not entitled to alimony of any kind," said his lawyer Matthew Piermatti in the papers filed in Union Superior Court.
McGreevey, who pays $1,129 in child support, said his wife's complaint described his lavish lifestyle, concentrating on the 17-room mansion he lives in with his boyfriend.
"It does not belong to me," he said. "I have no lease and stay there only at the pleasure of its owner. ... I own no home."
And he lists his average income as $154,000 - a fraction of the $428,000 his wife claims he made last year and which, he says, included a one-time $250,000 payment for his book.
The pair's lawyers are due back in court next week.
Exactly. Further, he was a gay man and entered into a dishonest and fraudulent marriage from the beginning. I hope she gets everything... forever.
Yep, liberal you is.

Lavish lifestyle on $48k/yr...where do you live, Alabama?
Are you joking? I heard about the Democrats wanted to do something like this for the long-term homeowners who pay little or no mortgage but never did it because we kicked them out of power in the 90's.

I doubt he would have minded ... it would have just advanced up his arrival in Amsterdam!
Imagine how the Jersey State Troopers felt guarding the Pervert while they had to drive him around to his “meeting places!”
Have a nice day!
Thanks for the background. I’m posting the text of this on this thread:
MCG’S WIFE KEPT HIS SECRET
By JEANE MacINTOSH
April 23, 2007 — She knew.
Despite claims to the contrary, Dina Matos McGreevey knew former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey was gay long before he announced it to the world - perhaps even before the now-estranged couple’s marriage in 2000, The Post has learned.
Both McGreeveys have publicly maintained that Dina found out when Jim confessed just hours before he resigned from office in his August 2004 “I am a gay American” speech.
But multiple sources - all of whom spoke on condition of anonymity - said the claim that she didn’t know is a cover.
“By 2002, just before Golan Cipel resigned, she knew,” said a friend from their State House days. McGreevey says he had an affair with Cipel, whom he appointed as his homeland-security adviser in January 2002.
McGreevey has admitted that his wife confronted him about his homosexuality that year.
In his memoir, “The Confession,” McGreevey recounts how his wife - catching him on the phone with Cipel in the summer of 2002 - angrily asked, “Are you gay?”
Cipel resigned in August 2002.
Other sources said Dina was aware of her husband’s sexual orientation even before they wed.
The couple began dating in 1997, during his failed gubernatorial bid against Christie Todd Whitman.
“During the Whitman race, the whispers about Jim were already circling,” one of the sources said. “There was a small circle of people who knew the truth. He was seeing men.”
By 1999, those in McGreevey’s inner circle said she had figured it out.
“As far as I know, she never really confronted anyone about it, she just kinda let it slide,” one source said.
McGreevey proposed to Dina Matos in Montreal in February 2000. They married that October.
In her memoir, “Silent Partner” - due out May 1 - Dina reportedly recounts how she almost didn’t make the Montreal trip because she was upset McGreevey had asked one of his good-looking male staffers to drive them.
In 2001 - just after the birth of their daughter, Jacqueline - her husband began his affair with Cipel. She had no knowledge at the time about that relationship.
In February 2002, a New Jersey newspaper published a story noting the “close friendship” between McGreevey and Cipel.
The insinuation was clear, and McGreevey later wrote that his own mom asked him if he was gay.
“It wasn’t just Jim’s mom - his family, and Dina’s, were wondering, too,” said a friend of both families.
Matos’ brother, Ricardo, told The Post last year he had “wondered” about his brother-in-law. Friends at the Portuguese American Club in Elizabeth, the town where Dina lived before marrying McGreevey, said Ricardo Matos has openly claimed his sister knew the truth.
At his home Saturday, Ricardo Matos declined to comment on his sister’s life.
Dina and her lawyer did not respond to requests for comment.
Approached Saturday on the driveway of the Plainfield, N.J., home he shares with partner Mark O’Donnell, Jim McGreevey declined comment except to say, “I wish Dina well.”
A quick check of your very recent posting history shows an unusually high (for this forum) defense of things queer. Are you gay? Is that the reason for your venom toward this woman?
He wasn’t charged because DOJ is in such a mess.
I read the article you referenced. It appears from the article that Dina realized at some point during their marriage that McGreevey might be gay, but it nowhere proves that she knew before the marriage.
My goodness, you’re venomous. Perhaps you are one of those men who got shafted in divorce court and now thinks that all women are greedy bitches?
Pray for the daughter, poor kid.
MUST NOT POST!!!!!! Will get banned...

Ah yes, Governor âFudge-pantsâ McGreevey, always a class act.
