McGreevey tells wife: You'll get zilch from me

Jim McGreevey yesterday accused his soon-to-be-ex wife of "greedily" grabbing at the perks of being New Jersey's First Lady - and refusing to give them back.

In legal papers packed with snide and catty comments, the openly gay McGreevey told estranged wife Dina Matos McGreevey she can expect to get nothing from him.

Matos McGreevey had asked him to pony up $4,000 a month in alimony to help her live a lavish lifestyle like his.

"Her jealousy and contempt are almost out of control," he said.

"She greedily took the perquisites that my job offered her. ... Not only does she view [the governor's mansion] Drumthwackett as an entitlement, but she believes that she must be kept in that kind of lifestyle."

McGreevey resigned as governor in 2004 after announcing he was gay.

McGreevey's legal team said New Jersey law requires alimony payments only if the marriage lasted more than 10 years - and the McGreevey's is only three years old.

"As such, she is not entitled to alimony of any kind," said his lawyer Matthew Piermatti in the papers filed in Union Superior Court.

McGreevey, who pays $1,129 in child support, said his wife's complaint described his lavish lifestyle, concentrating on the 17-room mansion he lives in with his boyfriend.

"It does not belong to me," he said. "I have no lease and stay there only at the pleasure of its owner. ... I own no home."

And he lists his average income as $154,000 - a fraction of the $428,000 his wife claims he made last year and which, he says, included a one-time $250,000 payment for his book.

The pair's lawyers are due back in court next week.

I hurried back from walking the family dog in our local scenic park and got back into the fray.

I do hope you didn't rush the dog so it was able to do its business...

One newbie, with an agenda, with one ZOT!!!

Nope. We have a fine park built out into the St Mary's River. The Michigan side within spitting distance (almost). I might add there is a metal dispenser box, where there are stout bags- scoop yer pooch etc. All cooperate.

Any way, if zot it is, zot it must.

Gee, you mean like how McGreevey arranged for the fees to be paid for Cipel’s immigration into the United States, then appointed him to high-ranking post as state homeland security czar, despite the fact that as a non-citizen, he was ineligible for a security clearance?

IMHO, McGreevey should have done jail time. He’s currently busy trying to “hide behind the cloth” of the Episcopal Church, while simultaneously cohabiting with his new millionaire "financial planner" lover, Mark O'Donnell, who was a patent attorney for many years in Australia.

Oh yeah, and McGreevey's trying to get a branch of Kean University opened, in of all places, China. McGreevey made the long treck to the Chinese mainland last year to help "negotiate the deal".

Didn’t just recently matriculate to a divinity school. His position is on the entrance exam,.....I suppose. Looks like he is living up to his responsibility to raise his child like a democrat.

If anybody cares to accuse me of being homophobic--damn right I am...I think gays enjoy being able to label those who dislike them "homophobic" - it puts them in a position to of power to assert that others are "afraid" of them - you don't sound fearful at all, more disgusted or sickened - maybe a "homonauseous"......

I heard awhile back he wanted custody of this little girl as he said he & his lover could give her a better life...I wouldn’t put it past that scummer to get it either. From what I’ve heard living in NJ , he has quite a bit of dirt on people who don’t want it to come out. IMO he shouldn’t get anywhere near this child.

McGreevey is now seeking custody of his 5-year-old daughter, Jacqueline, and child support from his estranged wife, Dina Matos.

In a high cost of living state like New Jersey, $48,000 a year doesn't go very far after you tote up the expenses. His wife is far being a gold digger if she asks to be maintained in a middle class lifestyle.

The $48k only represents alimony. Coupled with the child support he is already paying, she would get around $62k a year. In my opinion, that is excessive. You have to keep in mind that she is an able-bodied individual, capable of earning a decent living on her own. Plus, she also has a book deal, which brings in God-knows how much money. I suspect that Dina Matos is already capable of providing herself with a comfortable middle-class lifestyle. Giving her an extra $62k a year on top of what she already earns isn't necessary, it's lavish.

I think it was even beyond that. I suspect the police director had that dimwit marry the guy specifically so he could blackmail the governor.

She can always visit the Bada-Bing Strip Joint and ask if anyone “paints houses”.

McCreedy is a perfect representative of the true “gay” lifestyle as opposed to what is marketed as “gay” by hollywood on the will and grace show. The “gay” lifestyle means sex with strangers in filthy public restrooms, obession with little boys, fisting, rimming, felching, and rodent experiments. But hey, it is an alternative and is quite diverse.

No doubt that's true.

And before this, he was trying to "hide in the closet" (or closet doorway). Remember the Machiavelli episode? That was when Jim 'fessed up. That was real, prosecutable corruption, not just some private peccadillo.

Somebody here said the gays despise McG. If I were gay I would too. He's made 'gay' the true refuge of the scoundrel.

I hope Matos soaks him good. And I wish someone would re-open the investigation into his crimes against us.
