CONCORD – One of four men accused of helping convicted tax evaders Edward and Elaine Brown avoid arrest allegedly had a "gun in every room" when agents arrested him in Vermont Wednesday, and another recently enlisted in the U.S. Army and had a pipe bomb and other weapons in his New York home when authorities searched it yesterday, officials said.

"We've said from the very beginning ... that people who may be aiding and abetting the Browns are subject to investigation, arrest and prosecution," U.S. Marshal for New Hampshire Stephen R. Monier told reporters after the U.S. District Court hearings.

So......every room in my house has a gun in it. Except the bathroom, too much moisture.

The Remington Model 870 Marine is good for a damp environment. All stainless steel and shiny...

"...The low duty cycle in a high-moisture environment..."

So that's what you kids are calling it nowadays.

Well, that’s the difference between a ‘ and a “. But I bet it would look like 16’ coming at ya’. :-)

Add in the 1903 and M1917 behind them and I got a long reach.

We have three Carolina Curb Setters as early warning devices.

Step off the curb into our yard and it’s Arf Arf Arf Arf all the way up to the door.

LOL! We have 3 Jack Russell Terriers and a Black Mouth Cur who are our constant companions. The terriers sleep on our bed and the Cur is about 6 feet away on her dog bed. NO BODY slips upon us.

LOL, maybe that's what they mean by "Reach out and touch someone".

(So long as it's not me!)

I’m not even close to that percentage. I need to arm up, or move to a smaller house.

...had a "gun in every room"

So? Did they have a trigger finger in every room?

It appears that the US Marshalls are handling this case better than the cases they handled during the Clinton years.

Ruby Ridge was during the Bush 41 administration.

I was thinking of other activities besides Ruby Ridge.

Ruby Ridge happened under George the First.

As I posted earlier, I was referring to other operations in the 90s. Do you remember Clinton the First?

My apologies. People kept bringing up Ruby Ridge and I thought you were referencing that. I should also say your underlying point was an excellent one...this was handled much better than it would have been under Clinton. Nobody got incinerated.

Precisely. But most of the posters to the thread jumped on the "gun in every room" part of the story which was really inconsequential, IMO. But it gave them a chance to git 'er dun anyway.

Yep.

We have a gun in every room of our home, way out in Appalachia. Hell, round these parts, if you don’t they think your ‘odd’....(chuckle)

But we pay our taxes...

Appalachia, ey? I live in the Appalachian Mountains and I’ve never figured out why the Appalachia appelation didn’t apply to us, too, rather than just that small part of the range way to our south and west.
But then, I’ve never really figured out how it is that Europe and Asia are called two continents when they are clearly only one.

‘Appalachia, ey?’

Yep...but just barely ‘inside the lines’ in Southeast Ohio. Its not ‘mountainous’ here, just the beginning of the rolling hills and ridgelines starting the ‘climb’ if you know what I mean.

Went to dinner with friends that moved here from Cincy just as we did seven years ago. One of the topics during the meal was ‘would you move back to a big city?’

100% answered NO, resoundingly.

I love it here.
