Two Miami-Dade police officers have been injured in a so-called Tactical Operation gone bad in Cutler Bay.
This is currently a developing story that began at SW 281st Street and 143rd Court in Cutler Bay where the two officers were possibly shot, reportedly with an assault rifle.
Other officers may have also been hurt but only with minor injuries.
At least one officer has been transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
After the shooting, one suspect barricaded himself inside a building at 280th Street and Southwest 143RD Court.
The other suspect took off in a White Honda Accord and began driving on the Turnpike and led police on a short chase before he bailed out at 222nd Street and SW 110th Avenue.
That suspect, described as a chubby white man with long black hair remains on the loose.
Broward County police agencies have been alerted to the shooting of the Miami-Dade Officers.
This is a developing story so keep checking back here on CBS4.COM for updates

Channel 7 reporting vehicle occupied but it does not appear the male subject taken into custody is NOT the suspect who is wanted.

Well hopefully, since he killed and wounded cops, they will kill him if they get the chance.
But it appears he ran to mommy and children for protection from pissed off cops. (maybe)

MSNBC - just confirmed 2 people detained at the scene, but can’t confirm they are the right people.

it does not appear the male subject taken into custody is NOT the suspect who is wanted. A little double negative problem there?

Officials reporting it is not La Beet

Cops shot in the line of action vs. 10 hostages captured at a bank in the “line of action” (going about their lives).
What’s the difference?

Way more. From S. Dade Co. at least 50-60 maybe more. I thought he said from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami.....that's about 30 miles.

I lived in Doral (Miami Dade County, west of the airport) for three years. Had a wonderful time, as Miami has the best restaurants, best food, and most beautiful women in an otherwise sorry-a-s state.
In terms of crime, I would say that West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach, Belle Glade, and much (though not all) of Tampa are worse.
The only nabes I ever felt nervous in when I lived down there were in Overtown (immediately adjacent to the old downtown) and the NW 79th Street corridor (Liberty City). N. Biscayne was a little unnerving due to the druggie prostitutes, but I've seen that all over the world.
Meanwhile, I would walk around Doral or Coral Gables at 2AM alone and not feel unsafe at all.

Police spokeswoman reporting the correct vehicle was located, but the suspect was NOT LaBeet, but may be related somehow.

Well something is up because the police spokesman was giving the run around about the mans particulars such as his religion or why any citizen would be wearing an armored vest and carrying an AK-47.
Also how they could identify the man positively but have the wrong photo.
