Deval’s naivete endangers us all (Ma. Gov blames victims of 9/11)

In his 9/11 commemoration speech, Patrick observed that while the attack on the World Trade Center was “mean and nasty,” (that’s telling ’em, Deval!) the real tragedy of six years ago was the “failure of human understanding.”

Yes, 9/11 was, Patrick said “a failure of human beings to understand each other, to learn to love each other.” [Emphasis added.]

To find out what the victims of 9/11 didn’t understand about the terrorists that might have prevented the attack, I turned to Debra Burlingame. Her brother, Chic, was the pilot of American Airlines [AMR] Flight 77 - the plane that hit the Pentagon.

When I first read Debra the governor’s remarks over the phone, her reaction was astonished silence. “Can you read that again please?”

I did. More silence.

“Did he have the audacity to say that in front of grieving 9/11 family members?” she asked, somewhat astonished...

If he looked like he’d vote Dem, Osama himself could probably get a job at Logan.

Boston's mayor Tom Mennino should keep his mouth shut because he speaks a strange language that nobody can translate....that language is known as Menninoese.

The article was about Massachusetts Governor Patrick Deval.

I realized Boston had changed many years ago while I was at a Red Sox game and a 'fan' sitting in front of me shouted James, smash the sphere vigorously as Jim Rice stepped into the batters box.

Hmmm, do you think Menino keeps getting re-elected BECAUSE nobody knows what the hell he is saying?

Pennsylvania isn’t that liberal. Outside of Philly and Pitt you have Republicans and socially conservative Dems. Of course, you can drive 70 miles across central PA and see more dairy cows than people.

I'd be the highest paid political consultant in the world if I knew the answer to that.

I heard Curtis Sliwa refer to Bloomie as a Jewish politician. I found that interesting as I never thought of him as such. He is a Masshole politician, and a member of the Church of Latter Day Businessmen (props to Kinky Friedman for that one).

Jack Bauer? I’m not watching anymore since Janeane Garofalo joined
the cast of 24.

Same here.
But if Garofalo ends up being a traitorous or manifestly-stupid
character...
I'll be all over the re-runs!

Bloomie defies categorization. A billionaire, effete, chardonnay sipping elitist who refuses to visit the outer boroughs of NYC, and who somehow maintains a nasal boston accent despite living in New Yawk for so long, a man who sends agents outside of their jursidiction to break federal firearms law, a man with the hubris to think that he can actually become president.

A liberal republican, like Julie Annie, a non-sequitor...

He’s sort of right. We failed to understand that male islamofascists want to kill everyone that lives in a free country.
