Israeli warplanes last week bombed and destroyed a northern Syrian missile base that was financed by Iran, an Arab Israeli newspaper reported on Wednesday. Citing anonymous Israeli sources, the Assennara newspaper said that Israeli jets "bombed in northern Syria a Syrian-Iranian missile base financed by Iran ... It appears that the base was completely destroyed."

Syria's ambassador to the United Nations warned Wednesday Israel has yet to hear Damascus' answer to the "act of hostility" committed by the Israeli Air Force last week.
"Our response has not yet come," Bashar al-Jaafari told the BBC's Arabic-language service.

Pelosi, Murtha, and Reid are deeply saddened by this announcement.
Hillery has pledged to hire several Syrian women to be on her campaign staff.

They're a little late. This war was supposed to get going last July. I don't know what makes the Syrians think they can win against the Israelis when the Jews kicked their butts in three previous conflicts? Oh, wait. Olmert bungled the war in Lebanon and showed Israel to be a paper tiger. Okay, nevermind. Does SYRIA have any significant oil supplies? My guess is that Israel will have to maybe cause Damascus to glow in the dark, to convince them to back off. Can anybody quote Isaiah 17?

May God bless this Israeli effort. Maybe the Israelis should just go ahead and bomb the whole country of Syria and be done with it. And, as they fly over Iran bomb them too.

Problem with that is Iran isn’t on the way to Syria — it’s over 1000 miles to the east. But I share your sentiment.
