It's not everyday that I show up for work and find protesters in front of the building, but that's what happened today. There were only two of them, but they had very colorful signs. A girl in a Ron Paul t-shirt was holding up a sign that read, "3rd World Nations Are Not a Threat to the USA." Her male friend held one that urged passers-by to "Stop the Neocon Madmen."
Intrigued, two of my colleagues and I went downstairs to learn more about these neocon madmen and why they must be stopped. We offered the protesters National Review t-shirts and copies of the latest issue.
After exchanging greetings and literature, I stuck around to talk to the protesters. I have to admit, it was something of a letdown to learn that T.C. Bell and Ellie Roos, students from Colorado, did not come all the way to New York City just to picket NR. Our little magazine was but one stop on a tour that included Commentary magazine, the Wall Street Journal and FOX News (for more on this last, see Hot Air's video).
In addition to protesting neocon madness, Bell and Roos said they are in town for the anniversary of 9/11. More specifically, they are here to raise questions about the "official conspiracy theory," which holds that 19 terrorists affliated with Al Qaeda hijacked airplanes and crashed them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
Bell and Roos believe that "criminal elements within the U.S. government" orchestrated the attacks to provide a pretense for the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. "The order to strike Afghanistan was on President Bush's desk on September 10th," Bell asserts.
I asked Bell and Roos, who do not work for Ron Paul's campaign, if they think Paul agrees with that view. They said that, although Paul has said he does not, he has also said that "he never trusts the government's official story when it investigates itself," and that Paul might be open to launching a new investigation into what happened.
Bell stressed that he's no fan of the Democrats and never has been. He says, "If we," meaning Republicans, "nominate anyone other than Ron Paul, we will get trounced in the next election."

"did not come all the way to New York City just to picket NR. Our little magazine was but one stop on a tour that included Commentary magazine, the Wall Street Journal and FOX News" I subscribe to the first three, and listen to Brit on the way home on XM.

Oh Dear, young William Robinson.
He does look like Dr. Smith. Keep him away from young boys in silver space suits.

Ron Paul and his supporters are an emabarrassment; they apparently believe all of the worst ideas of the Democrats and little of the good ideas of the Republican Party. Basically, they’re nuts.
